You mentioned that you were on the second level? Just wait. It'll get really difficult really fast.
Some Guy
Actually, I don't think it's a stupid idea at all. I've only seen one game that had an option for designing your own weapons (and the rest of the components, too.), and I had a lot of fun with it. Weapon design sounds like a great idea.
If you want to keep that race as an ally, don't brake the alliance (well, duh!) What I mean is that if you break the alliance, that race will never ally with you again. However, that happened to me a couple versions ago. It is possible that someone changed it in one of the more recent versions.
2. The post is related to multiplayer, which I worry has probably been beaten to death in years past. Sorry if that's the case. Oh yes, very. When I saw the topic I thought to myself, "Oh no. Not another person complaining about a lack of multiplayer and thus accusing the game of being stupid, childish, and a bunch of other undeserving insults. And the
Maybe Mal is making good on his comment to not "waste time." He hasn't replied to anyone here yet. I wonder if he has read any of these comments. Posting a problem and then having many other people attempt to correct the problem doesn't seem like a waste of time, though. just a thought
Wow. That guy seemed really mad.
1. I always assumed the bonus applied to my own freighters. 2. I rarely use the trade modules. I never build a starbase for the purpose of trade modules. That's just me Concerning my #1, I really don't know if it effects all freighters, just my freighters, or my freighters and foreign freighters bringing me money.
The galaxy isn't infinite. Nor is the universe Bad Joke: So if the universe isn't infinite, wouldn't that imply that it is finite and thus has an end to it. Where would that be? Is there a sign saying, "The universe ends here"? If so, I wonder what would happen if one crossed that line. Ha Ha Ha end of bad joke
The only problem I have with the selected dates is that all the stuff that Im looking forwards to is being released right when university starts up again... no bloody time to enjoy the damn games I hear you.
Looks like a good simple game. I look forward to it. Oh, wait. I don't think it will run well on my computer. Dang!
I've noticed the AI will warn you of another empire's threat, but I've never actually seen them take action against it. "Hey, the torians are spreading. You should do something if you don't want to become a part of their empire." "okay, let's fight them together." "Nah,you go ahead. I'd like to be a part of their empire." ???
Wow. It looks beautiful.
I wish I could make something like a total conversion. Unfortunately, I don't have the time or the skills necessary. No, I haven't made one. No, I'm not close either.
I recall this subject was spoken about a lot before the game was released. I recall one of the arguements was that the population only accounts for the taxpayers; it's not the whole planetary population. There were a few other arguements that I can't remember, either. I just look at as 1. I send in troops. 2. Battle. I lose troops, they lose troops. 3. I win (I hope) 4. The remaining number is just civilians from the original population. No big deal. Whatever.
I believe it's for the most part random. I recall once, I was allied to the Altarians while playing as the humans. The Altarians were at war with someone, so I joined in, too. The Altarians were weak, so they eventually crumbled. Guess who they surrendered to. If you guessed me because I was their ally and I attempted to save them from a war (almost did, too) you are wrong. They surrendered to the Drengin. Why?!??! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/SadAngry.gif" border=0
I believe this topic has been beaten to death over the months. As of now, there is no multiplayer; however, you can compete with other people through the metaverse.
When I first started, that happened to me a lot. It was very frustrating. The thing was, the planets that the AI colonized were good planets. I just didn't know that because they didn't look like good planets. If you zoom out far enough, the map becomes a tactical map and all the ships and planets become symbols. Zero planets are just thin circles. Good planets are thicker circles. The higher the class, the thicker the circle. (Am I making any sense?) If the planet is a very high class (12 or ab
I noticed a lot was mentioned about graphics. Graphics are good. They make a game look good, but graphics aren't everything. In my book, graphics don't count for much. If a game is a good game, then it's a good game. Graphics would be the icing on the cake. A bad game with good graphics is still a bad game. I'm just some college student, so I can't really afford the new systems (well, maybe I could, but that wouldn't be very responsible with my money). I play off the systems that my friend
Wow. It looked like all that debt was going into research. Before hitting "next turn" you could start down the the technology victory part of the tech tree. Next turn, you'll probably end up researching all tech victory technologies and you win! Cool. Something like that.
Multiplayer. I've never done it before. I don't think I would want to attempt it in a turn based game. Sometimes I take many many minutes to do one turn. I'd feel kindof bad for whoever I'd be playing against. Real-time games would be good though. There's no waiting around for someone to take their turn. How come there aren't any games like Galactic Civilizations that are real-time instead of turn-based? Is it just overly difficult to do?
Wow. That's a lot of numbers and calculations. I like numbers and calculations. However, I just got out of a game. It was a large map, all nine players. I was playing as the humans. The Torians became power hungry, so I had to stop them if I wanted to win. I saw what weapons they were using and researched the counter defenses. "Because a defense only defends well against a certain attack. The other two work. That means if any random empire attacks you, there is a 2 in 3 chance that your
That seems a little creepy. "The AI is thinking . It's calculating how it can defeat you and rule the galaxy. Don't people write stories about that kind of thing?
In these types of games, I'm really big on technology. You can have your big military, strong economy, or superior production, but I want first place in technology. I prefer a small but intimidating navy. The only problem was that the only way I could get ahead technologically was if I did more than half of all the research in the galaxy. By myself, I could research five technologies in a given time. But the six other races would research their own tech and trade with each other. I would be doin
And now I must choose to stop roaming through the forums and finish my ten page essay. Dang
Have you considered that playing the game is a choice? Granted using too much time to play the game was my choice, too, but it was still my choice. The choice not to play the game during finals week was again my choice. I could have chosen to blow everything off and play the game, but instead I chose to not play the game. As hard as that sounds it really is easy. And yet it is hard. But it's easy.
