We expect creativity in our biology like we expect creativity in our physics. Within the bounds of what is known, exploring the limits of what is not. Yah and if you actually read what I posted in context you would realise I was responding to all the people who say that species should all be bi-pedal and similar to humans. <br

This is what happens when you have a poll without being able to rank your choices. My guess is a lot of diplomacy and political voters would take multiplayer as a second choice?

Guys they are not going to make a game that is incredibly deep strategically, and incredibly deep tactically, it simply doesn't happen. ROME TW was pretty simple above the tactical level, and was crippled by an AI that simply sucked at tactical fights. You think Stardock has the resources to make a game where you can ignore 50% of it and it will still be fun? ROME TW was a joke if you auto resolved.

Please for the love of god post in a readable paragraph format. I think Gal Civ 3 is going to look a lot morel like total war:space. A game can't have nearly as much strategic focus if you have to play out every single battle. So tactical is either going to have to play second fiddle to strategic, or dominate it... or possibly be like Moo with it's extremly simple mechanics, move, shoot, move, shoot.

*Sigh* not including any form of planetary bombardment was a active and intelligent decision by the designers. This includes carriers. You want to trash an economy with little losses? Send in a transport with only 500 people and use orbital bombardment, you probably wont take the planet but you will kill billions and leave it undamaged, for when you drop your transport with traditional attack and take it.

It would be cool to have ships auto named, but in terms of carriers.... What I would love is if the various Jewelry and graphics were only minimally connected to the actual function of the weapons. Why cant I have a phaser VII that looks like a phaser II? Why can't I pick the graphical representation of the engines? As for carriers. Why not have the ability to have generic "fighter" Jewelry that escorts your carrier, basically within the battle widow they fly around, but in

I would just like to point out that flagships in real life don't give some sort of weird bonus to all craft surrounding them, you can take the best and the brightest aproach if you want... simply rename your most experienced bad ass ship "flagship" I like heroes in warcraft 3 as well, but Galciv is a very different game.

So I have made the jump from crippling to Masochistic... and I need some advice, Basically I am getting my ass handed to me on a pretty regulas basis. Crippling I can deal with no problem (this is all 1.11 by the way I don't want to deal with metaverse cames not being counted) Anyone who has made this switch got any advice? I'm having a brutal time of it here, the enemy AI's always seem to have more techs, and more ships.

You definetly have a point Dreadarchon, I guess I just wanted my killer space Teddy Bears. As for the soldiering thing, I find at the higher levels if I have lost the space war I'm sure not going to survive through the ground war.

Allowing negatives leads to some serious abuses that are really really difficult to control. Lets see I take a -10 to soldiering, -50 to defence (which I wont use,) +50 to attack (got to make up for that crappy defence) -10 to militarcy contruction. Use the points I got from the -20 to get the quick soldering techs that I need to counter. Hell take a -influence factor and never use it, so many ways to abuse in a game like this.

They do not need the Alliance tech. People always say they do, but they don't. You need the Alliance tech to propose an alliance, but not for someone else to propose it to you. My guess is people can't make an alliance, give alliance tech to the race, and hey it's a bribe so now they say yes. People then make

Alliances should be damn expensive, after you have it they pretty much trade you anything you ask for for a very very cheap price, and to top it off, they never backstab you as far as I know. You can sure screw them though

I've had the Drengens attack me this way wtih the message "that we're your next logical target's so were hitting you first!" It's awesome, if they didn't do this the same people would complain that the AI just sits there and lets them peg them off one by one.

I'm just beginning to use custom races, and I was curious, what decides what your base bonuses are? I have a race that I have produced that has a +25 soldering bonus, Not exactly what I have in mind. I can't seem to turn it off under the abilities screen, and I am curious how I can prevent this from happening because I would much rather use the bonus for something else. Thanks for any help!

Hell I as a player do this to computers that are getting beat on. Who doesn't enjoy a good group beat down? Anyway the programers say that the computer doesn't destinguish, and frankly I believe him. Also, something tells me you were not a good aignment, now that the computers are not push overs maybe a good alignment will make a little more sense? Anyway in the mean time... here is a link for you mist. http://www.ams.usda.gov/howtobuy/cheese.gif I h

I was responding to HIS post. well responding to your post it really seems you are trying to pick a fight? or is it just a social skill issue? If explosions were making my game hang I would probably complain too, why do you have to get personal about it?
