Here, Here, Frogboy. SD's commitment to the galciv communitty is fantastic and is a huge part of the reason why i bought this game regardless of no cd protection. If more developers put their time and money into the game instead of the protection we would be living happily. whenever that U.P. resolution is passed about starbase modules i always leave. trade be damned id rather be maxing out my econ starbases and mining resources than trading anyway........

tks for the help guys and ive thrown a couple of emails to stardock already from smartex...no word on any solution or diagnosis as of yet.....i am inclined to think it is maybe a heat issue with my cpu...a new case may be the answer i was thinking of upgrading in the next couple of months....time to do it now i guess!! tks.

ok its a random crash as it will happen at any time....but its also constant as it will happen at some point...i hope u understand that......and yes about 1 in every 5 crashes is a whole restart with some cryptic microsoft message about the gpu....i had considered heat and installed 2 more case fans that blow directly over the card and it has had no effect that i can see......a new graphics might be the answer??? please guys all opinions are greatly apprecieted.

like the heading states crashing it seems for any reason...ive had it like this for about 2 weeks was trying to determine a pattern at all, cant seem to find one...it mainly ctd but every now and then it restarts pc with serious error message. i have no probs with any other game or software, any ideas?? ps. happened to 1.1 and the 1.2 beta. heres debug, Debug Message: Version v1.2 Beta 1 last updated on: Fri May 26 19:38:18 2006 Debug Message:

with long winded posts like these where do u people find the time to play the bloody game...... seriously tho, in the original post, if all those suggestions were included in the game, it would be as hard to manage as gerorge w in a candy store.....its a game not a reflection of real life.....so enjoy it as it is and take the improvements that come and be done with it!

yea i been trying a little modding, im a noob at xml editing so dont think ive done too much but who knows.....i will try a reinstall and ill give the resolution a try as well....thanks for your input

ty for ur help guys but unfortunatly when i open the exceptions tab there is absolutley nuthin in there....i might try a reinstall of smartex to see if that helps...........when i forst download smartex should galciv appear in there automatically or do i need to do sum set work i dont know about.....and i will check the root dir now ty...

the folder u describe is it not for ships created in the game and ur campaign progress and save games....so after reinstalling would it not be empty??...ignore me if i have completely missunderstood

umm this is the best tbs games out (imo)..even with the bugs.......and the support on here from everyone and the devs is 2nd to none....but if thats not good enuf well take ur crappy attitude and terrible english and go crawl back under ur rock from 1997.....u wont be missed!
