There is a pirate shipyard in the area of the planet you settled. One of the ships attacked and conquered your colony. A pirate ship also destroyed the ship you sent to investigate. You didn't see them because they have more sensor range and more moves than your ships do. They alpha currently doesn't do a good job of showing when and where things like that happen. Your starting survey ship can handle the pirate ships. There are three of them at each shipy

This is a bug that has been reported by numerous players. The +2 stat actually vanishes almost immediately after it appears. If you watch your ship, you will see it vanish. There is nothing you can do about it, so don't ever take the option to add it to your ship. The option to research an improved version of the weapon will appear when you are able to research it. I'm not sure, but I think it can be researched only once. I have submitted a save that cons

Sometimes it's not clear which tech needs to be researched to improve your chances of getting the tech you really want to research, and most players don't have access to the tech tree to see what techs lead to desired techs. For some reason, I do have access to the tech tree, so I unlocked all techs using the console, made screenshots, then cut and pasted the parts into a complete tech tree for each part of the tree. If you want to

Here is an informed answer. YES I just verified this. First, you need to be onliine and logged in to Epic. Go to Settings and make sure "Enable offline Mode Browsing" is checked. You can then exit Epic. When you run Epic without being connected to the Internet, you will be allowed to log in and run GalCiv4 without a problem. NOTE: The current size of the alpha is 10GB.

In the galaxy screen, the top line that shows all the resources and other things can get so long that it covers up the arrows at each end of the line. The arrows are still there and still work, but it can be hard to actually find them to click on them. Here are 3 views that show the list. The top view shows the default view, the middle vi

Yes. At the bottom of the galaxy screen, click on the left icon. In the next screen, the right tab is Orders. Click on it to get a list of orders you can give. The middle section is about ships, and the third choic is Upgrade. When you click on Upgrade, you will get a list of ships. When you click on one of the ships, you will get a list of what the ship can be "upgraded" to. It is more accurate to use "changed" instead of "upgraded". Ea
Here is a simple one. Some anomalies are guarded. Your survey ships will ignore them. If you attack them with a normal fleet, you can't survey them afterwards. You need to attack with a fleet that has survey ship, or the anomaly will become useless.
I have more information in Reply #3 here . It includes 3 ways to avoid the problem and provides a save

The version you bought includes the GalCiv3 game and the Crusade expansion and the Retribution expansion. It doesn't include the Intrigue expansion, which is why you were able to buy it seperately. Since you have the Retribution expansion, you will get a splash/start screen that shows Retribution. The contents of the Crusade and Intrigue expansions will also be included in the game.
So where do I put the mod files for DLC\EXP4_Retribution\Game and DLC\EXP4_Retribution\English ? I've tried both reproducing the DLC directory tree and putting it directly under the my mod subdirectory and neither worked or appeared in the game. No submissions? Well, here is one from the weird mind of Stephan Pastis that was in Sunday's newspaper. Don't hate me too much for posting this. [e digicons]:D[/e]
Was the other mod, eliminating the asteroid lines?
Yes, it was. The trade route lines are there because it was supposed to be possible to park a warship on them to raid them. It was barely developed early in the beta, then it was removed later in the beta. There is still mention of it in the GalCiv3GlobalDefs.xml files

If you registered it with Stardock when you bought it, you should be able to get the key when you sign in to your account. I'm in the Galactic Civilization forum. I went to the top of the screen and clicked on Support. I then clicked on Your Downloads , which is one below the option you probably clicked, then Games and got a list of all Stardock games I have registered with Stardock. This picture shows my original purchase

I'm not sure if that code is what you are using in your mod or if it is an example of the changes that need to be made in the mod. Whichever it is, I've never seen the tags and used in an xml file in the game. If they aren't allowed and you're using them, you should get an error message. I think the code needs to go in the ShipComponentDefs.xml file, but the code in there doesn't match the example code. If you are using the ShipComponentDefs.
2. Later, the tech is gone. All of it. I've searched through all my XML files, and I can't find a reference to Spatial Manipulation, nor can I find any tech tree entries based on my research.
I'm going to guess you started playing with your mods. You probably are using the wrong xml files in your mods, so everything that is missing was removed from the game by your mods. There is an xml file for everything in the base game directory. The ex

I made a mod for you a little more than 2 years ago that changed all the predicted results to "Hope For The Best". The changes were made in the UIText file. Search for BattlePrediction to get to the start of the predictions in the default UIText file or in the modded file if you still have the mod. If you want to download the mod again, you can get it and another one I made for you in the zip file at <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/smhmljhr7f4qi67/Mods%20for%20PUREVENOM.zip?d

I checked this event and confirmed the bug. I also checked the other two choices and found the malevolent choice is also bugged. It gives 5% bonus to production instead of the claimed 10%. It looks like someone used 5% on all the second parts of the changes instead of the % that should have been used. If anyone is interested, I have a mod that fixes these two bugs and others that are supposed to change population. I reported the population change bugs in 2019.&
