In my current game I am in wars with several races (they started them). I have seen the following: An enemy ship destroyed my mining base and moved away in the same turn. An enemy fleet destroyed my starbase and moved away in the same turn. An enemy fleet destroyed the single ship stationed at my planet, then moved and destroyed a mining base in the same turn. Worst of all, a large fleet containing a transport destroyed the single ship stationed at my planet, t

This should make diplomacy a lot more understandable. Numbers are a lot better than a few symbols. I did have two problems in the Diplomacy screen: One relationship was ID_DIPLOMACY_MOOD_ENRAGED Another was ID_DIPLOMACY_MOOD_RESENTFUL I didn't see all the relationships, but the other ones I saw were correct, so there must be something wrong with those two.

I know it's a bad idea to load an older save into an updated version of GalCiv3, but I just had to test the save that was just before the repeated freezes I reported here to see if this update made a difference. When I clicked the Turn button, GalCiv3 went right past the point where it froze all the other times. Good job fixing this irritating bug. [e digicons][/e]

I had another GC3 freeze, which is repeatable. I have been playing GC3 on my laptop, which has been struggling more and more trying to run GC3 since the 1.6 patch. It was a little worse with 1.7 and even worse with 1.8. I decided to spend more time playing on my desktop since it is more powerful than the laptop. I started a new game with mods, the same ones I was using on my laptop when GC3 hung and crashed. Everything was running well and the turns were f

I decided to run GC3 with the cheat command to see what I could find out. I used FOW to reveal everything and everyone, then finished the turn. The game froze during the Torian's turn. I think it froze when a fleet moved next to a pirate shipyard. The fleet had enough movement left to attack the shipyard, but it didn't. That may explain the last line of the debug.err file that indicates an attack is going to occur, then nothing else happens.

I got the save loaded again - and crashed again. This time when it froze, I used Alt-Tab to get to the Task Manager so I could end the GC3 process. This caused it to crash and generate a crash report. Here is what I found out before the crash. I'm playing as the Arceans against 11 random opponents. I have common pirate bases and abundant minors. The galaxy is huge with scattered stars. Stars, planets and habitable planets are abundant, while e

Larsenex, I'll start up GC3 and get answers for you. Most of my mods are races, but I am using some new mods. I didn't mention it before, but after each crash I checked the debug.err file. All were slightly different, but two ended with this line: Debug Message: CBattleSystem::AddBattle ticket 10 attackerID 23561 defenderID 15750 The other one ended with this line: Debug Message: CBattleSystem::AddBattle ticket 11 attackerI

This is a new game with the newest version of GC3 with all the DLC. I am using mods and am playing against random factions. Here is a summary of what happened. Yesterday I was playing, and the game froze. After I did some things the game crashed. The crash manager generated a crash report and sent it in. I wrote a short note on the pop-up window that now appears. Today I started GC3 and loaded the last Auto-Save. I did a few things in

I loaded the save game today and tried to get more information. Loading a save seems to fix the problem. I never got any information to display when I put the cursor on the picture of the mining base in the Confirm Battle screen.
Space monsters attacking remote mining bases is not a bug
I didn't think this was a bug since they like to attack everything, but they look like flying insects, so shouldn&#

This is a new game with the latest 1.8 version without mods. I am playing as the United Earth faction from the new Rise of the Terrans DLC. I built an asteroid mining base too close to some pirates, so they attacked it. When I put the cursor on the image of the mining base in the "Confirm Battle" screen, the information displayed was for my Survey ship. </p

Do you have a lot of worlds? When it was happening I had about 10 worlds with 20ish in the uncolonized list. Fairly early in game.
I saw this in my current game. I had not colonized a world for a while. The list was not flashing, then started flashi

This is a new game with the 1.8 Opt-In. I am not using mods. There are two problems with the trade window when the AI initiates the trade. 1. At the top of the screen there is no Leader Name. If I initiate the trade, the name is there. If the AI initiates it, the name is not there. When I back out of the window, the name appears. When I go back into it, the name is still there. 2. The AI is always shown to be unhappy with the trad
FWIW re game videos: from a dev comment I understood technically you could replace them with custom vids, but even if you have a complete custom video/anim ready to implement the Bink2 video format the game is using is only available for devs. The BNK1 vids in GC2 were easy to replace by using (then free) Bink tools to convert any vid/anim you like, but for BNK2 which is now used there are no comparable free tools (yet).
You can add a random civ in single player ( Except for yourself which I find very annoying too )
You can play as a random race if you do the right things. Someone posted information about this some time ago, maybe a year or more. I don't remember who it was or when it was. That person should get the credit. I just use it when I feel like playing a random race. 1. Go to your Documents\My Games\GalCiv3 directory. 2. Find t
As far as I can tell it just means you haven't yet clicked on that design.
During the stream of the beta version on March 24, Paul said that it is for a new design. It goes away when you click on the new design to acknowledge it, so Publius is right. Paul also said that he might put a timer on it so that is automatically disappears after enough turns.

I checked your image and saw that you posted it to Dropbox. I then checked the link and saw that you are trying to do it the same way I did when I first tried to link to an image in Dropbox. I was told the correct way to do it and haven't had a problem since. To do it correctly, you need to make one change. The link you get from Dropbox ends in dl=0. Change it to dl=1, and everything will work correctly.
