From the sticky: For crash reports in particular , the most helpful file you can provide is a memory dump that the game will generate when a crash occurs. If you're running Windows XP, there will be a zip file with the memory dump located in Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic . If you're running Windows Vista or 7, the zip file will be located at ProgramData\Stardock\E

I thought you had a brain and din't listen to screaming fans who want damage types. damage types and armor types are HORRIBLE GAME MECHANICS. This makes it basically rock/paper/scissors and is the prime reason why I don't play galciv anymore(or sins for that matter).
Now, don't hold bac
I think this adds some interest, as it gives different strategic roles for the different elements. In fact, in Dominions there is a general absence of symmetry between all aspects of the game, i.e. ice magic is not just blue fire magic. I think that's excellent and is something worth imitating. It adds a great deal of interest.
Fully agree with that. The battle system in Dominions is great (too bad the game sucks so bad in different pa

It looks like they're implimenting a system where techs change colors after a certain amount of turns pass...... if so it would probably be painful waiting for stuff to become viable while your hard-built RP structure languaishes and your enemy catches up because (s)he was slower in the first place........[/
Am I missing a sovereign name change option anywhere? I noticed my bearded wizard soveriegn was assigned the name "Lady Sarah" in this version. I would like to be able to change this because hairy biker dudes in robes calling themselves "Lady Sarah" intimidate me overly much. Besides I like changing names and normally change the name of the character I'm playing anyways.
Hey, I like my Lord Frogboy and
We will be continuing to use the 2D sprite engine for the game until the beta group determines the game is enjoyable without having to rely on its state of the art engine that we have disabled presently. Might as well throw in the 3D engine right now, then. Aside from frequent lock-ups still, I already think it's fun! And I like the new research system much better. Huge improvement there.
<

Two points I disagree with: Names of the magic types Mystical Magic? Well, it's a renaming for Arcane Magic I guess. But Mystical Magic doesn't sound as good in my opinion. Also you have the 3 classical Elemental magics, but not Earth, which is kinda strange imho. Furthermore, you have air and earth crystal nodes (and earth and air mana) wouldn't it be more fitting to change Lightning to Air (since Lightning is a sub category of Air), Mystical to Earth

Try to attach the dump file from the game. Almost always there is nothing in the debug.err file itself that tells the reason of the crash. If you're running Windows XP, there will be a zip file with the memory dump located in Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - W

Currently you don't get an infocard from whatever you've selected at the moment. Thus if you hover over something without it selected, infocard on the right, but if you select it then, infocard vanishes. This really drives me nuts. Making information stick to one place and not having it switch places all the time is imho very vital for a good UI. It's also counterintuitive to only have the info of a selected unit on the bottom and not on the very useful infocards when hovering

Little screenshot of the new beta 1c to show my favourite snake city. ;) Be awed at my great city building skills. ;) But seriously, the new beta has made housing an even bigger annoyance imho. (I think it's so since the new beta.) Ressource gathering buildings need 4 tiles each. Per level of your city you only get 8 tiles though. Which means you can only build one ressource

When I go in the empire screen, the graphics get messed up when I use my native resolution of 1400x1050. It also crashes my game when trying to build my first city, since it then automatically switches in the empire screen which leads to a crash to desktop. Crash reported to FogBugz. This is the debug.err link. Since the debug file is almost 2 mb, I can't post it to pastebin. So you've got to download it sepera
