Civilization IV has an excellent AI and will beat the soxs off of you. And the AI show's it's smarts when you play the extreme difficulties. No, it's not cheating, it's just smarter, Uhm, no

just load your game like you would a normal game, and when you've won (or lost ) you'll be asked if you want to post your score to the metaverse
* Auto-Focus on next availabe Ship with Moves ** OMG! Perhaps I never payed attention…perhaps it’s worse playing on a large Galaxy…I don’t know, but I wanted to KILL auto-focus half-way through my last game. Cari’s currently turning this into an option…one that I will promptly disable. Oh joy, oh joy. You my friend a
Great rant Rogue Metro I have to wholeheartly agree about the interface issues. Playing on gigantic just drives me nuts when I have to clean up when doing a conquest victory. (Having to invade dozens of planets and killing hunderts of ships per turn with this ¦@#@¦# autofocus and having to go 10 times into combat view when attacking planets because they have no orbital fleet manage
Man, its like you only have to complain once on these forums and they will change things. I rember one Thread about the Fire Back before died thing.... Lame fix. First time I've heard somebody complain about a fast reaction to a problem
And how can you complain about autocalc? Autocalc is what Gal Civ uses ALL THE TIME. I still can complain. Yes, currently we have autocombat by a defined ruleset and no other possibilities. But if you would have the choice between tactical co
Says who? After all if I decide that the entire galaxy is my territory then it is a simple matter of confincing anyone else living there that this is so Ok, you've got a point there...
A whole 100% FULL ACK (well, besides the rudeness) with the first post of Marcathonas in this thread. Btw. thx for always answering all those futile feature requests, as I would need too much time to do so like you. (People should really read some in the forum before making the same requests as dozens before them...) As for tactical combat... tactical combat sucks. In fact, it
There is a morale cap at 27bil, Negative morale from pop seems to be capped at -80%. To be more precise its at 25 Billion people with a penalty of -80%. If you play on small
* A way to diplomaticaly force foreign ships (anything except traders) to respect your borders. (and vice versa). Possibly look at Civ4's bordering system (they finaly got it right). That would need a complete redesign of the current influence systems. Influence borders are not real borders! <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=cen
2) Make it impossible to start with. or trade for, any technology, without its prerequisites. Several races start with Ion Drive and Stellar Cartoography, without the previous technology. Additionaly it is contrary to the story line for any race to start with anything netter than the basic Hyperdrive Disagree. Ion Drive is just Hyperdrive with
I have to disagree with you on almost all of your statements. All the happyness buildings are useful and worth it's buildtime in gold, because they're the only way to have larger populations. (Lots of people = lots of money and lots of influence). If you have a high population growth and don't want to hit the cap to soon (ie. you build lots of farms) those happyness buildings are desperately needed to be able to have a high tax rate. Industrial centers are still
i have the following answer. can one completely defeat some race by flipping it's planets? Yes, it's possible. At least it would be if this #¦¦@3 planet would ever flip. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL
Richrf. Good answers. A good source for answers to creationist claims is this site Link which also works for a lot of ID claims. We are beholden to the US Constitution. America has not surrendered its sovierty to the UN. We are Americans not whomever. I don't care how Libya, China, Syria
I may be able to put up an unofficial test build with my changes later today as a link. Would love that. On a sidenote: Ignore that flamebait the other person laid. It's not worth it. Let your loyal followers and the Drengin
As far as I'm concerned, this design flaw is a much larger hindrance to game play than any bug I've ever encountered. If I could exchange it for the game crashing every dozen turns like clockwork, it would be easier to play and slightly less annoying. Agree. This and the "each ships moves one after the other" are reeeeaaaallllyyy annoying
Anyway, the Flying Spaghetti Monster created the universe and everything else is a lie. Come on, prove me wrong! All hail the flying spagetthi monster. (And don't start speaking about creationism vs. evolution. One being a science theo
Sadly, there is no option to do so. Which is really annoying me currently, since I play a gigantic galactic currently and I'm at war with the strongest enemy. Raaaaahhh..... What helps a bit when your ships have to travel longer distances is to scroll into a corner of the map so you can't see a ship and then press turn end. This speeds it up a bit.
Good analysis e-stab. - To better adapt both the trade income and research costs to different maps and galaxy sizes, it might be a good idea to base their values not on the galaxy size, but on the total number of planet quality available in the galaxy. The sum of all
Careful what you post, Quitch - there's a base of rabid fanboys around on these forums and they're bound to bite unless you brainlessly praise the game, even if your points are valid. You're talking nonsense, strategist. The only reason your posts aren't liked is because in about every post you make you mention Civ IV. That's fanboyism. <b
Put a clock on top of your monitor. Do you really look at the top of your monitor when your conquering those pesky humans? Well, I don't do it, so it could benefit from an ingame clock.
Initiative Combat: A lot of pen & paper systems use this form to decide who gets to roll first. Fine and dandy right? Nope. Again all I need to do is make sure my ships are built with the best initiative possible and I can still wipe you out and not only that now if you attack me and I'm defending I get to fire first and wipe you out. Not to mention what happens when two f
Terrans: The Drath have declared war on us, help! Me: All right, here is some money I will go talk to them. Drath: This war would seem to be a mistake on our part... Me: Fine how about a peace treaty between our empires, and you make another with the Terrans? Drath: Very nice. I had quite a big grin on my face
Well, I suck at this stuff, but since the scoring is a mix between military score, economic score, amount of research, population amount, length of game and dificulty are there the following possibilities for higher scores. -Military conquest gives the most. Reason: The more planets, the more population and money. And you get all planets if you win this way. -Research everything be
- Allow fleets over a planet to defend using the current logistics ability by default Agree. Building a fleet manager is a waste of a completly good and useful tile. - make ships on both sides
