I never use custom maps. We should be able to preview the map, then i might use them. Scenario rules aren't clear nor are the descriptions. Not to mention that there are no really interesting scenarios.

I think i may preorder TA but before i buy it, i need an answer for this: How is TA's performance? It same as DA? Or is it slower or faster? It's said that new textures take less memory (so they should better on older computer too). It was also said for DA and only after (was it 1.5?) the patch it became playable, and i fear it's same with TA.
Drath are 20 feet (that's about 7.5 metres right?) tall? Right. Their space craft take a lot resources to build eh? Hopefully you'll explain the Altarian/Human relation quickly.
I would be interested in new exp packs. They don't need to be so huge as TA or DA though. Their price could also be half of TA's. What i wish they'd contain are radical changes to some aspects. Ground combat; add religions that have negative and positive effects; better, A LOT better UP, similar to SMAC's UN but even more advanced with much more advanced diplomacy with ability to ask what would the other one want IE trade techs or buy something; Goverment changes and AI controlled
Religions... yeah why not?
cheers! And add SMAC's social engineering (and UN) too!
DA has that problem too... I just ran to it, apparently a thalan fleet is stuck to a torian planet or something (they're at war.
Mmm. I wish this game would have so memory intensive graphics (and i'd like to have low-res graphics too, performance>looks). My comp meets the recommended specs (... well memory type is outdated as is the video card even though it should have enough memory) but i'm forced to play with the icon view. Kinda stupid The problem with the icon view is that it's too hard to see different ships. I have a big fleet and a small one, but they have the same icon and fleet names are too simila
For what i've read and heard it excellent. I remember Civ2 which was one of the best games ever, SMAC even better. Civ3 did not feel good for some reason. I'd play it if i had it, i'd buy it right away if i knew wether it works with Radeon9200 (old, yes, gotta buy new comp anyway so i'm not upgrading). I have games that don't support 9200 but work anyway. Usually older ones.
Mmm... someone mentioned SMAC... i wish it's UN and Social engineering were in GC2... Sorry Off-topic
...Oh of course. I looked at some scenarios, their settings must've stayed. Lol. Why can't the sttings resest every time? Well i gotta check those next time. Thanks.

I don't know what happened. I set up the game (small map), select the drath (i pick up the economy and the pop growth bonuses, four AIs, challengin and all are random. First turn: automate the miner, the surveyship to the closest anomaly, the colony ship to the planet to pick up more colonists, and i send it to class 10 planet i saw. Tech is the first research tech and i lower the taxes so much that the aproval is 100%. Then end turn. I get a movie and then the victory score screen. WTF? Her
A RTS or a TBS can be a console game. C&C3's 360 version is a fine example of a working console RTS (aside the lack of EA's support... Actually, they don't care about console version owners at all, they promised a patch, and then it's not coming) . A TBS is even easier to make work on a console than a RTS. Console's also offer some advantages compared to PC, like easy Hotseat. I kinda wish GalCiv2 were a console game. Wouldn't have to worry about performance. Lack of mods would be stupid tho
Terrorstars. Period. Just wait a few weeks. Orbital Bombardments are a dead horse. Stop beating it. Maybe someone can mod those?
Alpha Centauri (and Civ4 apparently, haven't played it though so i'm not sure) styled UP would be nice.
Mmm... minefields... I liked Rasori's idea.
Hmm i can try using desktop resolution... i don't believe it'll work any better but i'm not going to lose anything by trying. There's just one problem... i just bought C&C3 for 360 so i'm playing that for a while :/
Hmm 1440x900 is my desktop resolution due widescreen monitor. Game resolution is 1024x768 because it's only way to keep framerate down. And there is no 1440x900 in game menu. About drivers... i think those are newest for ATI radeon 9200, though i'm not sure. One driver version messed up all graphics in all games. And how come games run better at desktop rez? It's higher than any rez i use in games, and higher than 1024x768 in game tend to drop frame rate too much. I prefer smooth
Wasn't Kryo doing rotating hard points for KHSM? Or that didn't work? Or was i dreaming?
Nope. Nothing about the virtual memory. Just crash. I have 1 gig of virtual memory. Should i set it higher? WinXP recommends 766Mb. My HD is 75 gigs in size, though only 5 gigs are free. Need to delete some games i don't play :/ Been lazy. Hmm mixed vertex processing... didn't that increasi frame rate or what? Because i have only 512 Mb memory and radeon 9200, my frame rate isn't best possible. Before 1.6 and it's graphics changes (or whatever they were) my FPS was around 10. Or le
Dang. Thanks for pointing my mistake. Didn't remember to look right folder because i was frustrated after crash. Luckily, i didn't play after crash. One thing i'd like to point out is that DL is updated to newest, because i just haven't played it after DA so debugg.err says 1.4x Well, here's the right one: Debug Message: Version v1.61 Dark Avatar last updated on: Wed Jun 13 14:10:36 2007 Debug Message: Checking DX Version. GalCiv2 DA 1.61 I was desinging a ship when game decided to crash. Not first time, though. The game tends to crash randomly, might be because ATI drivers (for Radeon9200) GalCiv2 DA 1.61 Anyway here's debugg report: Debug Message: Version v1.4x last updated on: Mon Oct 23 17:43:56 2006 Debug Message: GalCiv2 is activated. Did they say in that article that TA is going to have upgraded graphics? I think you just lost me as potential buyer.
Probaly never for this game... Not that i care. EXCEPT!!! Hot-seat. Only two players. Single player rules would fit IMO. Okay maybe if your friend becomes super civ... But otherwise fine i think.
