Where do you live that your bills for a month only cost as much as a computer game? Also, cancel any engagements or appointments you may have for the forseeable future. It'll just save hassle later.

I was playing a game a while ago where the Torians got it. I left them till last to conquer, to see if anything happened. They did seem a bit harder to defeat I think, but then they would have had to have had some serious bonuses to stand up to the Uber-Dreadnought fleets I had running around by then.

I got the assassination event with the Terrans but the game crashed when I clicked the done button on the page telling me about it. Oh well, at least I've seen it now.

The best system I've seen is the game I'm playing currently. It 5 has habitables cant remember exactly what they were to begin with but now their 7, 18, 26, 33 and wait for it 68! Nice. After diligently taking lucky and universalists every game, I finally got the double PQ random event. And it happened to a class 34 planet. To top it off the class 7 planet has a 300% and a 100% manufacturing bonus and the 26 has 2 300% research bonuses. Good system. Btw, as i said I take lucky and un

I'd agree with WarEagle, the tiny ships work. Research to tiny ships, with 2 beam and 2 warp engines as quickly as possible and group them in to the biggest fleets you can (logistics techs help ALOT here). Also dont wait for things to build, you have lots of money, use it!!! I bought a basic lab on all three worlds in the first turn and set research to 100% and get moving up that tree. There are far more thorough stratgy guides on these forums for this mission, search under Dread Lords or

What wepons and stuff did you put on the ships? What other stuff did you research? I'll probably get round to playing the campaign properly at some point and apparently that levels quite hard.

In the manual, in the section on espionage, it also mentions spending to destablise governments. I haven't been able to find a slider for it anywhere. The Drath planets seemed to flip faster in one game I played with the espionage set to full, I didn't notice any difference with the Thalan or Korx though.

It happened to me against the Torians once. I was playing a neutral custom race (huge galaxy, 9 races) The Torians randomly declared war on me and then did nothing for a LONG time. Possibly not a year in my case but getting close. Finally they attack with the most pitiful fleet you ever saw, it had 3 ships with 1 laser each and a troop transport. They had better technology than that, their report was showing harpoons and phasors. I'm ashamed

I'd like to whole heartedly second this idea. If there were only going to be one more change to the game I'd pick this one, please have the various lists stay where they are when you use them. Eg Building improvements on planets, moving ships from the ship list and selecting planets from the colony manager. If I had a pound for every time I've built a cultural exchange centre rather than a neutrality learning centre because the list mov
