I'm having a problem with the Media Pack. The new files for the intro, space station and so forth are working. However, the portraits did not get updated and when I communicate with the other civs I do not get the video, just their static portrait. Anyone else having a problem? Yep. I have. I get Delenn with Hair as static pic during trade
Star Adder
There is one thing I find odd in this Mod. If I'm not mistaken tha Nova is a Dreadnought while the Warlock is a Destroyer. Why then is the Warlock a huge build while the Nova is only a large one?
Well adder here is my reasoning for change in avatars. 1. Delenn with hair (not right for minbari, especially if they are the leader of their power in game they should be BALD! ) 2. Londo looks like a wasted drunk, and the pic is low quality, I've always seen to me that the centauri as a respected and proud race 3. G'kar avatar is not G'kar but the war leader from ep 2x22 4. I didnt like the background on the KOSH pic, also was low quality Heh, saw the
He doesn't?! How DARE he..!!! Thanx. I just felt I needed to make contribution. Although it's rather small compared to what Vorlone, Coplann, rav and spax are doing. edit: Comes Dark Avatar an idea could be to make "The Hand" be the new dark superforce. And the perfect race pic would
Have been away for a while, so I just noticed that there is a mod now. And from what I've learned through the forum so far it really looks awesome rav. Up till now I only used the pics and ships I DLed from the library. Now I'm going to try the mod instead. As for customizing the races and ships they use I think that with the dark Avatar expansion this will be much easier if SD holds true to the description of the new features they're advertizing.
Have to join the chorus here. Great work on the ships guys! Wer hätte gedacht, dass da sooo schnell geht... So thanks to you Vorlone and Coplann. And to all who found kind words about my Leader pics assortment in the Library, thanks to you too. And of course to the moderator(s) for letting the upload stay in the library. Gee, I feel like doing an Oscar speech. <img src
First Idea of Random Events (or result of destablitzation should it be implemented): Our Leader's stock of Brevari(sp?) was poisoned. Luckily we found out before someone had a sip of it. What should we do about it? Good: We have enough money. Go get some on the black market (-x bc). Neutral: Tell the richer houses to donate money to get new supplies. Evil: Get new supplies but get the people to make a froced doiation to the cuase of "upholding the regent's good mood"(+500bc,
Recruiting citizens would probably mean those people deciding to move to another system owned by the destabilizing party which means more pop hence more tax. Sounds good.
Espionage per definitionem does not anything to destabilize another race's empire. BUT the things Shadow mentioned is a much more plausible approach. Except for the espionage victory though... Galciv is of course not supposed to be another MoO3 in that regard, but I also think that it would be fun to have these adjustments. Training special individuals for the infiltration missions like in
"I maximize weapons on ships.... to use up all the space... I hate wasted space on ships.... " But then you also waste a lot of ships. I tend to build ships that use defensive tech against the weapons the other races built to a certain degree while putting weapons in em that the enemy has no or little defense against. Even if my weapons are not as advanced the additional defense usually keeps em alive long enough to finish off the enemy ships. "The Lucky Ranger,
Errrr, I know. Actually I just uploaded the pics I use into the library section(Londo, G'Kar, Kosh2, Neroon and Sheridan). I was talking about the Vorlon ships there...
Great! You're da man!
For me personally Drakh or LonaW ships are not that important but I definitely would like to have Vorlon and Narn ships in the game. In my current game I play Drengin with Shadow ships, against Earth Force, Torians with Minbari ships and Yor with Centauri ships. Needless to say that I got the Yor to ally with me as soon as possible.
Gee! That's frightning indeed. But nothing compared to the Snathi. The picture of their leader alone made me wet my pants and left me shakin' in my boots.
I wanted cloaking devices too at first but I'd say that cloaking is not really nescessary if it could be made visible which areas of the map a race can see and which not. Why? Because I had a case in which an area near one of my planets was fogged. So I didn't see what was going on there. Suddenly at the end of the computer's turn a drengin fleet dropped out of hyperspace directly beside that planet. SOOO, if we knew which areas are visible to the enemy we could move our ships through
Well, the whole issue of colonization would be much easier if different civs would prefer different hab classes(with a bit of overlapping). One civ's wasteland is another civ's paradise so to speak. Just a thought.
So far the one thing I did to have a basic sort of BT Mod was exchanging the races' logos for BT logos provided in the library but I'm acurious as to what you guys are able to put together.
Hrm,... only in my last game did I actually see a pirate fleet. It got stomped by a standard fleet of mine quite easily. Never met anything near what you guys are discribing in neither mass nor strength.
I used to have a bright orange along with purple (coz in purple I look stunning ) too. Imagine my surprise when my first Excalibur class ship was all orange. Talk about a pink Shadow Crab.
i started a new game, and after I hit the turn button for the first round, came a GNN breaking news, that the Drengin has built a Manufacturing Capital, w00t! Yeah, had that happening too once.
Well, before updating to beta4b everyone seemed to go for beams and low beam defence. In my current game most civs go for mass drivers while the terrrans go for missiles. Rarely in earlier games did I see medium ships with lasers AND mass drivers. But almost NO ships the AI built so far in ANY game had much defe (more than one point) implemented.
They did?! How did you notice?
My planetary defense systems usually take more than two weeks. OK, jokes aside. I share your points. My idea for them would be that they should work like Star Base Defenses. Giving the planet a certain defense when there is no ship in orbit (like in MoO). But not stackable because otherwise you wouldn't bother getting ships there in time for defense and simply throw all of your
Diplomacy +10% So you don't really see any noticable immediate effect.
Well, although I don't have that much of a problem with the good races and their tendency to strike at weaker civs I still share the general view that at a certain point you simply have no choice but to to build up your military to avoid war. There simply seems to be no way of using diplomacy or anything else to seek a peaceful co-existance with the other races from a certain stage on without much military forces at hand. My games also forced
