Thanks for some positive encouragement, not everyone on here is a racist bigot or eternal pessimist. I think that a lot of the questions that were asked about how we are and what we are, that were asked at the dawn of language, the time before religion was invented to guide us, when people could just exist together without needing to know all the answers. That must have been bliss. Sur

What a jerk.
I think you can mod all that in, to say that it really matters tactically, the game is of a strategic focus clearly more so then tactically. Though it would be cool to have a lil more variety.
"I'd hate to see the direction the country took if we reached the point where people were directly voting on each bill. At that point, you might as well just hand over control to the media who would have even more influence on the way our government is run." I agree with this a lot, that would be very dangerous as well. The media has its teeth into government enough, especially cable news networks. I think if a society like south korea got into doing this though since they are so tech a
I actually like that idea a lot Khimeko, it would be cool if one of those options would be abstainment from any issue, cause lots of times at the UN nothing gets done, just like in congress, I envision the UP being very much the same. lol. Why else would anyone launch a galatic war when it takes so long to build up an empire and you could just talk out all the problems.
I have another few thoughts on Aliens, hehe. The universe is either infinte or finite. At this point there are only two things that exist that are infinite. Our imaginations, really can't be defined/captured, humans have shown the ability to comprehend numbers and figures so large and small to be infintecimal, and the universe, because of our lack of being able to conclusively mesuare maye be inf
EA is loading up spyware on your computer as a part of the license agreement is that what I am to conclude from the earlier post?
I think they've made some good games I'm not defending them but, I liked Sim City 4, mostly Maxis, yeah but it was an EA games contraption too in my opinion, Theyr'e going to be doing Crysis, which is going to push the envelope on fps, crazy graphics. They're going to be doing spore, they've got the madden franchise locked up. I seem to think they are doing some things right, at least not everything they make sucks.
If starbases were to be treated like any other unit/base on the battlefield from which we draft conclusions of strength, measures/counter-measures, if starbases were stronger, then the navies of the universe would keep their navy at the starbases, and starbases would have to become mobile and used as large ships to attack other units/bases. Starwars which is pure fiction, at it's best, had a mobile star base they used to destroy a planet, if not for that available power, the small figh
Yup it's buggy, potential though, definetly. I just wish they'd have more quashed before they went retail with it. Ewww.
Why are you guys arguing? For the fun of arguing? Or cause the topic merits it? Just curious.
Has anyone played it yet? Or is it just buzz we're reflecting? Just curious, nothing wrong with buzz, but I was hoping for substance.
Each persons entertainment center in their brain is stimulated by different things and to varying degrees. The gameplay can become repetitive because the mechanics are pretty streamlined and the amount of depth prevents the game from staying largely unexplored for real long. I think with more content and better variety of options the game could become viciously addictive. All depends on how well the expansion executes. I still am hoping for a large scale patch that adds a lot maybe we'
Well it's true. About 3/4 consider themselved to be Christian. If religion is the ruler you measure by. People are people, if you want to divide them into groups of segments of groups and then assign characteristics to that group with no scientific basis that's racist. If you do it with scientific basis that's demographics. Saying any and all followers of a particular religion are terrorists or criminals, or that all terrorists are folowers of Islam is racist. Like saying all
""Some of the supposedly Intelligent Terran's choices were suspect to say the least. E.g., he was consistently willing to pay a decent price for tech four levels up the tree, and then still pay for the techs earlier in the tree. Why in the world would he do that?"" The reason they do it is they are AI.
Whoever said that there are lunatics in every religion, organization, government, community, and group of any kind in existence, which doesnt represent the whole group, has it more right then anybody else. The current wave of Anti-Islam is not much more then, war on terror, is just like all the other wars, we pick up a cause for a while until something new comes along that seems like a world changer or really sucks and has to be dealt with. War on terror, before that war on drugs, war
An interesting observation. I'd have to say I mostly agree with what you've written.
Overall 1.4 is a hit with me, I would guess you guys would prefer that I just keep quiet. But then I couldn't pitch GalCiv2 ver 1.4 retail to the masses, if you are checking out the game you should buy now, the bugs are fixed! The game is tweaked, the value is awesome. There are no show-stoppers whatsoever to speak of at this point. The challenge of gameplay is excellent. The AI is AI but for AI it's
Do you know if you have 2 slots for memory or more? If you have 2 then you could upgrade with another stick of 256 assuming that's what's inside right now other wise if you have 4 slots another 2 sticks of 128 which I think you probably have right now would give you the most bang for the buck. Let me know if you aren't sure about that I am pretty good with RAM upgrades.
Hey thanks for the update Astax. I think I'm going to pass on the full retail version. I just can't get into it the way I am with GalCiv, score 1 Stardock, I like the depth, but if you say the AI is awful, then eventualy I'll either luck them dead or learn enough about the strategies to do so on my own. I like the tactical combat, but it's not enought to keep me coming back and there just seems to be a bit too much depth. I like the fact that you can build a ship in 30 sec in Galciv, I think it'
What exactly is so super great about Space Rangers 2?
I agree, that the supreme SP exprience is needed. I think if they continue to add content and features that'll be good. Certainly the forums have given them plenty of ideas. Curious... Why do you think MP means the death of development?
Lets say, that you are a creator a god, and that you created the universe, and in this universe, because you were created by the creator, and he created the universe perhaps, he also created the rules, you have to follow the laws of the universe, time moves at a consistent pace depending on your speed, gravity, physics, chemistry, nature all that stuff is the outline and framework of the existence. Might we perhaps be some science expriement of a creator, our reality is the universal r
I'd go on and on about MP, but nobody wants to hear it. LOL. Still I think that it would offer you another option to keep playing it, getting value from the game. You might try mixing up the type of galaxy you play in and also not just using the standard game type, but the massive fleet type and other goodies that are in the bag.
I second the idea of a good M M O R T S!
