1.1? Good lord... that's going to take well over a year, unless I'm completely naive about the speed future updates will be released.I'm getting no further enjoyment out of this game until I can actually experience true cooperative play in a large scale system with my close buddies who can invest a lot of time like I can.
I seriously doubt it :) Past experience with the GC series makes me confident in saying you will probably be pleasantly surprised. And if ther

I might be able to help some... Oh, nice stand against the 4 fleets jumping you earlier Monk. I'm going to look really close at the replay for what you and Jam4 did... he saved my butt or I'd been crippled at game start. Oh, I'm PaxConsortium, the new guy :P Anyhow! Your modem firmware IP should be 192.168.2.1 Your access login name and password (thats what it's called) you can call the tech support for your ISP and ask them to reset the password and give yo
I think changing it on the fly could possibly create sync problems over the network, causing problems... from a coding point of view it's possible but to get it to work correctly might involve time better spent on the network code itself right now. Perhaps more endgame condition options would create more ways for the game to end outside of a default slugfest might help, but then we're discussing development time that the dev team themselves have a far clearer picture of what they can ac

Hello everyone. I'm curious... I'm an old school 4x / RTS gamer getting into this game. I set up a medium map with three stars on a slow research setting. Yet with pretty aggressive expansion I still have nearly managed to research everything except the last few tiers on civilian infrastructure while I'm just now expanding to another star. No, I didn't turtle... my empire is twice as strong as any other going by the graphs in almost all respects. I was wonder
Signed :)
Ok... forgive me, but... + Eleventy Billion!!!! Seriously, this hits the nail right on the head. Half the reason I followed this game from concept to publishing is because I'm such a huge Stardock fan. By education I'm a mainframe programmer who took up game programming as a hobby back in the DOS days.. usually trying to make games like this for my friends until I got my hands on Moo2. GalCiv II was my first experience with them, and I w
LOL haha..nice
I'm working on a custom mod of my own design. Very slow, modified tech, heavily modified logistics system, expanded tech tree... reworked and rewrote all the tech descriptions to fit the 'theme' I have in mind. It's not based on any show though, it's actually from notes left over from an old project of mine, so I even have a backstory to work from. Not sure how I'm going to implement that in game though.. still brainstorming. After creating a few test versions to try ideas out I fleshed out
So.. just to make sure I'm understanding... The ship jewelry vanishing bug will dissappear if I start a new game now? I've been trying on and off to play for about two weeks and this has frustrated me to the point I don't play anymore.. I spent an obscene amount of time designing ships (was going to submit them to the library too...) and now when I try to upgrade one of my base custom types everything dissappears on it except maybe some modules (construction for example).
Oh yes... if you're holding back on the beta because you're worried about bugs, it's definitely without question a huge improvement over 1.11, just d/l it and you won't regret it.. you just might end up excited like the rest of us here
Wow, stayed up all night myself.. saw my roommate off to work and a little while later actually felt tired enough to sleep... so many improvements, and yes I noticed the AI too! Great job, thank you!! *goes back to plotting in his Evil Lair(tm)*
Gigantic galaxy, abundant almost everything except I think I turned own habitable planets and anomalies down a notch, turned tech victory off, very slow tech (wish there were a lower setting than this for the gigantic maps though) The turns are getting longer but I don't care... with a map this size life support and sensor range actually mean something...
33 here....
Thanks, especially that tactical mode option. I did see it but thought it had something to do with the combat viewer.
Hello... first I'd like to say I'm really enjoying this game! I'm a programmer myself.. years ago I tried to create a game like this myself so I have some insight on how tough it is to balance the gameplay in this kind of game. I'd been exploring the forums and started noticing some things myself as I played, and thought if any of the notes I was making were useful to the devs it would be worth the effort. ---------------------------------------------------------------
Yes... I'd suggest some patience, the website is NOT crap...
Gah... no wonder I couldn't find it. Thanks!
Hello, Where are the files for the ships we create in the Shipyard found? Any help appreciated, Nomad
I've just bought the game myself, and have been playing on Slow. I haven't played on Normal yet actually.
