The new medal really looks nice ... so lets keep it. Gallagher: do you try to stay below 20k to not suffer econ penalty, and does this affect scoring? You mean population? I usually have every planet with 15k. On high quality planets I sometimes make "breeder" planets. They are for invasion or filling up low rated planets

TBAY, not sure if evil is the only way. With my metaverse char I use to play evil only because it fits much more better to my playing strategy. On other post they say neutral is much more better for scoring. I think as long it fits to your habit any alignment will work. Yes, the last game was quite good. I didn't play with abundant planets again and even with loose clusters there were about 450 planets. Some less then in my other big game. I guess this is why I could finish it much mo
hello everybody. Now we are really close to the top. Very good. Gallagher: seems we use similar abilities. But I still take the economists (I try others sometimes), because this bonus pays off during the whole game. As an evil race and hopefully lots of eco-bonus starbases this gives me a very high eco score - and also a lot of money. I always take as a basic setting: Pop growth: +30% Research: +10% Civ. Prod. +10% The rest of points I spend on luck, m
Well, invasion tactics ... I almost never use the gas war, tidal wave, core detonation. Sometimes information war. But 90% I use the mini soldiers. To get population of planets down I use the mass driver (asteroids?), since the information thing doesnt work very good when there is almost no difference in combat power. With free invasion tactics from evil alignment it goes like this: Transports with 1000 troops only (for not to lose to much population on own planets at once). Small
Gallagher, so you finally get in to break the 100k. What is your lowest scoring part - so we probably can find a way to improve that. I played a lot of non-metavers games to ceck the racial abilities to my playing habit. Population growth helped a lot, but the effect on scoring isn't that big since planets are the limiting factor, especially on smaller maps. Soldiering and so on - well you don't get points. Has anyone tested the morale influence on social? I think economics is the bes
Jarru, actually i don't have a game running ... so you can relax a while on the 3rd place you got right now. I'm not in good condition today since italy kicked us. But I also have some good news for you: There is just another recalc going on ... right now the former 1st place is down with 130k points since all scores done with games before 1.1 are now almost worth nothing. This will also cause the first empires to drop. Well so it is up to us to go!
Morning everybody. I know this is getting annoying - but there are some things I have to say to the actual thing.. 1. My vocabulary background is not that high so things I like to say sometimes seem to be hard to get by people. 2. I always try to post comments in a polite form - as long others do so too. Why call me a a**h**? Do not wonder when I use the "c" word in a reply upsetting people with. My fomer post on any topic always tried to focus the game - I do not let
This calculation is definitly wrong. As shown in other threads the turns value is somehow involved with the square. For me you are definitivly a cheater, since you want me to belive that you get an eco score of 64k after 3 years? With eco rate 45%?? Never! Also your values show a lot of uncommen numbers related to the scoring ones. I could go on like this the whole day ... population with 4 T in 3 years with growth rate of 8%? But i don't want to discuss this wit
a lot of things happend since my last visit. I actually hoped to make it once to the 3rd place for at least one day, but now having unfunf here - well, it will be impossible. It took me 2 weeks to gain 240k an he can do this every day? Let me see at least your stats from the end. How can one conquer all on gigantic with 8 ai? No way to do this in 2 or 3 years. The ai spreads out like hell and you can get 50 planets - they have 10 times more. Even when having rare planet numbers: Where do you get
me again - anyone already checked out the pic of "willzyx" (unranked)?
morning everybody (well for me it is 11 am). we just reclaimed 3rd place, but they are still close. As TBAY said, the top 2 empires really benefit of this stupid new calculation. We almost need to double our scores. Obviously someone doesn't want us to reach the top ...
@Norad: yes saw this too. (still up - or what time is it for you?) They didn't play since weeks but they were ranked up ... confusing. My first explanation is that someone changed the recalc thing which affects their old games. But why?
Nice hint that one can have up to 16 starbases to boost research. I only used them for more income untill I get the "mindcontroll center" [?]. I will try this in the next game, but first I need some days without playing. I have just submitted my last game - it took me about 2 weeks to finish it. Maximum of planets with 9 opponents IS really challenging, but "eats" a lot of time ... also does to conquer them all. I think I will never do this again. How do you manage higher numbers (>200) of plane
That hurts. Maybe I'm paranoid, but your score before (320k x 2 = 640) and the 90k are 730k. One-Third of this is about 250. Seems there is another drop like after the sixth game (50%). I read something about a drop after the 11th game, but lots of players said that this is no more. Seems now to be after the 16th.
ras1310, your medal will only improve after 3 more tough games to the challenging one. But let me explain why ... Every level is worth a score from 1 up to 12. Normal gets 5 points, suicidal 12. Your medal is the value of (total score)/(number of games) BUT: there is no rounding up. In your case ... the normal medal goes from 5.00 up to 5.99. As you can see with only challenging games there is never the jump to the 6.00 for the next level. You need at least three more tough games
The scoring forula seems ok. Adding that the game level is involved with the factor 1 - 12. Since your total score as shown above is divided by the square of the turnnumer it makes no sense to play (ehm ... hit return) for a long time. I prefer "real" playing. With my gaming speed (quite a bit defensive) my found my best results after 7 years. Population seems to be very important, but an additional mix of economy, influence and military is necessary to get the real big scores. I think it schou
So that is it then ... I'm in. Just submitted my last 1.1 game. well then about 7 more agmes to get the "obscene" medal.
Hi guys. You still need fresh blood to feed the orcas? I'm thinking about joining you. What do I need to know?
