I just deleted mine (kept a copy in a different folder) ... hasn't happened again since then, but probably want to be careful doing that.
The Infamous Reno
I seem to recall reading that another expansion for Dread Lords was planned somewhere on down the line ... any truth to that?
I left the computer off for a while and the problem seems to have gone away, so I guess it was overheating ... what can I do to alleviate this problem? I never seemed to have it with dreadlords, and I ran up to Huge galaxies fine on it ... How would I go about upgrading the PSU? Thanks for any advice
Hello again, sorry to post another thread, but this is an unrelated issue to the driver failure. (I think.) In the middle of play, my computer seemed to shut itself off, although it was not completely off, the green light that indicates it is on turned orange and began blinking on and off. It wasn't completely off, because I had to push the button once to turn it off completely, and hten again to turn it back on. I haven't tried to play the game again since then, but this has happened

Also, my driver version is 6.14.0010.4342
Hi, I don't have a debug file unfortunately, I couldn't find one in either DA or DL folders. When the game is trying to autosave, or possibly play a movie, it keeps freezing up and telling me that the driver ialmrnt.dll has stopped working, and I need to restart. "The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance
Also, does anyone know if Kryo's Mod still works with DA? Is there anything I need to change to get the hulls/etc. to show up?
Okay, I fixed PubMaster's pack, but I still can't get RabidMonkey's ships to show up. I think his zip was missing XML files, but I'm not sure ... anything else that might make them not show up? (I know to start a new game)
I downloaded PubMaster's Shippack in the library in addition to a couple of others, and I notice that the file doesn't seem to have a format, so I can't open it. I also downloaded RabidMonkey's Imperial ships pack, and I extracted them to the proper directory, but they aren't showing up in game ... What can I do to fix this?
You mentioned that relationships with AI will sour if you have influence starbases in their territory, or flip a planet ... hopefully this goes both ways right? Because the AI loves to stick in influence starbases all over my territory, and then not upgrade them. Same thing with economic starbases. They're useless as far as I know, but they annoy the heck out of me, as they refuse to sell them and I have to go to war to get rid of them, and since it is usually more than one civ doin
No, it's not doing anything, it's just annoying to see it sitting there. Same with the four econ starbases they have put around my home planet that have no modules on them. They're completely useless, but they won't sell them for anything, and they're annoying the piss out of me.
Geez, I hate to bump, but ...
I think this is a great idea, (the three diplomacy flavors) and would be a nice way to improve diplomacy without overcomplicating it. I really want is a way to get rid of the stupid things without going to war, or paying 50,000 credits for them, it's getting intensely annoying.
How many ship designs do you keep saved from game to game? It seems like it would get kind of hard to keep track of designs for every possible attack and defense and upgrade them all, but it could be possible I guess. Also, what is a good strategy for building ships? Currently I put on a decent amount of defense, about a 3:2 or 3:1 ratio early on of attack to defense. Is this overdoing it, especially considering I've heard defense is not all it's cracked up to be? Basically,
I've posted a thread about this a long time ago, but is there anything that can be done about the AI putting in Starbases around your planets? I was lucky enough to snag a class 32 world this last game, and apparently the Drath, who I am supposedly friends with, have decided they want it, and have started sticking in Influence Starbases outside it. I'm not prepared to go to war yet, having a strong military, but no invasion techs, and I don't really want to get into a war yet,
Alright, thanks for the great advice everyone. I really just want to be able to run the game without any serious lag, I'm not terribly concerned with having top of the line graphics. (This is pretty much my philosophy will all the games I play.) So, since a new computer is definitely out of the question for the time being, from the sound of it, 5500 should serve me well? Also, is there a way to physically reduce the size of the ships as a whole short of going in and reducing
I hate to sound like an idiot, but how would I tell whether it's PCI or AGP? As far as full specs go, it's a Dell Dimension 2400, 2.4 Ghz Celeron CPU, (not good for gaming, I know), 750 MB Ram, 32MB Video Card. It's relatively new, bought it about a year ago. I know I'm kind of just parroting back what I wrote earlier, what all do you need to know to get a better idea? thanks
Hello, I recently downloaded Croc411's Terran Naval Ship pack, and they're really causing the game to lag, even with textures turned off. I also notice that when there are a lot of ships on the map and I'm not in tactical mode this happens. It takes forever to ships to show up in battles too. I'm currently running on 750MB RAM, 32MB video card, and I know that 32 is abysmally low for any sort of gaming, so I'm looking to upgrade. However, I don't have hundreds of dol
That's the whole idea of this thread, to get the ideas out. Of course there is no "1" idea, and that is what makes it great, you get multiple ideas, and select the best from each. Consider it a "smorgaborg" of ideas, you have a lot of good things to choose from, so you don't have to settle on just one item. (Hmmm, all you got is ham?) Just igno
These powers need control of the oil and that is the only reason Bush is in the middle east. If they were interested in ridding the world of terrorism and weapons of mass destruction they would have gone to north korea first. The NK's have had Nukes for a long time and they are a lot more powerful than you know. There whole economy has been driven with slave labour for ov
Posting in support of this idea yet again. Anything that increases the depth of battles is a good thing to me.
China has far more to gain from the US by working with us economically than going to war with us over a country as ultimately inconsequential as North Korea is. South Korea could handle North Korea on its own if we let them, and China would probably turn its back and whistle were they to be crazy enough to actually attack anybody. China in its current state could not hold a candle to the US militarily, for the time being, and their ICBMs are not numerous enough to overwhelm the US in
I vote for carriers. I think that anything that improves the depth of the battle system and adds variety to it is a good thing. I also strongly support more types of ships, because battleships, battleships, battleships gets old after a while.
Forgot to do the whole bump thing.
