Bootskin Bar leaves a black trail - Help! in OS Customization WinCustomize Forums

I have already read it here before but couldn't find it again. I've been messing around with bootskins for sometime, and one thing that keeps bothering me is the fact that the progress bars I create, when executed during boot (within bootskin everythin's just fine!), ALWAYS leave a black trail behind it, and if put over a pic or something with a colour other than black, messes my work. A good way to do it (it's worked for me), is to save your DX theme (skin, whatever), and then when your finished load it again. But first, and I suppose you've done it from what you've said in your post, place everything where you'd like them to be, not forgetting to lock everybody in place. That's it!

Thanx BoXXi. That was just it! I remember having browsed through those sttings, but my laziness got in the way! I wonder if you can help me again with another tiny one: is there a way to include items in the lists of the popup objects which open from the sliding menus on top of the desktop area? I agree with BoXXi. There's nothing wrong with DX but probably with Windows being already corrupted in some way (sorry!), or the installation DX file. Try downloading again and re-installing it, although I don't think it's gonna make any difference if there's a corruption in the ways I mentioned above. Somebody is not right in your machine. Never say die!

Changing Wallpaper in DestopX Theme - Help! in DesktopX WinCustomize Forums

I'm not really into making my own DesktopX themes and still have to get more familiar with scripts and stuff in order to do so. Fact is, I simply don't know how to do them yet. But I have some DesktopX themes downloaded from the net which I use now and then. Problem is: I sometimes like the theme but don't like the wallpaper bundled in it, and I would like to change it and save "as is" for future use. Most I've managed to do is to put a file into the C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings

Did you manage to make the prog bar "float" over the back ground without changing it? I want to make mine do the same, but I don't have only black or white under the progbar, i have my skin with design. My prog bar leaves a black trail covering the rest behind. Thanx

Thank you again, everybody. You're really doing a nice job there and i'm progressing tons over here. I have another one though: the original active WinXP bootskin seems to "fade in" when it comes. is this fx possible of reproducing using our skins made with BS? Talk to you again for sure.
