It was a real gem of a game. It had its gameplay quirks though, one you probably just ran in to. For some reason there was an advantage to being attacked during tactical combat as opposed to initiating attack. I remember playing in the mid 90's and there were these cheap spirit warriors you could summon, and as long as they were being attacked and not doing the attacking, they could even take out dragons. I had even lost my super Torin hero, suped up to a high level wi

I preordered this game, I wish Impulse would have had it at launch though.

I don't recall anything specific going on during this hang, it just happened during regular gameplay. Debug.err http://pastebin.com/m5a5a3149 and dxdiag http://pastebin.com/m239f83b6 Thanks. On further investigation, I will submit these through fogbugz instead. Thanks for your patience.
I am going to take your word that saved games work. I gave up after 10 minutes of loading. Make sure you're loading a game saved from 0.24...if it's still giving you issues, please send the save file to [email protected] and [email protected]. Thanks!
I tried it again, and the issue is not the saved game, but trying to load a saved game when there is already a world in play. My s
I'm just hoping we aren't locked into a boring old patriarchal/primogeniture model for the dynastic stuff. I'd like, but don't expect, to see a canon faction that is fully matriarchal, where sons are bred to look good jousting and married off for fat doweries, alongside a faction or two where title-holders can choose their heirs, and perhaps even one where the sovereign isn't even obliged to choose among his or her offspring for an heir.<br

Forgot the pictures. Starting positions too close: 1253668284 River weirdness, plus continent about half the size of normal : 1253669141 I am not sure about reporting the continent size, but some maps fill about 30-40 % of the screen, and others 70- 80%. I don't know if some are supposed to be small and some big or not, so I posted the last one.

I noticed that sometimes your sovereign starts out equipped like a warrior with 9 attack and 7 defense. I think the faction that comes with a research bonus (Parriden?) starts out like this. This makes the sovereign an almost unstoppable force in this build, especially if you find any +5 attack rings.

I can get a variation of this to happen every time when I try to start a new game after I had already been playing one. Instead of a new map, it will use the old one but not give me a sovereign. So I have to exit the game to start over.

I hope the campaign takes a different approach from the GalCiv2 campaigns. It was tedious doing the startup phase over and over again for short scenarios. Also being able to keep your progress is essential in these modes, and GalCiv2 had very little gameplay continuity from one scenario to another. It is difficult to keep players interested by only progressing through the story alone, especially when it is a page of text between hours of gaming. There has to be some pr
Sounds pretty bare bones. What exactly will we be testing for in betas 1a and 1b? Engine. Does it crash? Does it run well? Can it survive alt-tabbing? Etc etc.
I hope not. I was under the impression we will be primarily testing gameplay features. I haven't read about them wanting people for the purpose you stated, though I am sure they will be glad to

I tried your strategy Boddler, but I can't make it work. After I destroy the initial northern base I own I can't hold the elevated tower of West 1. I tried several times, but it isn't working. Three repairers on that one tower aren't enough to keep it up to health, considering it's the first target to the attacking swarm which usually numbers a dozen. Worse yet, I can't figure out how to replace that one. The base of the tower is green, but it won't allow a tower

Boddler, are you playin with the Reboot expansion? I can't survive no matter what I try, they send 9 robots at you at a time and start pumping more out as you kill them. Attacks are not rare at all, they are consistent both directions all game long. If I try to take a base they simply send the waves my way and either take out my force or capture my territory. My robots are stupid and will run forward getting killed by towers, and if I solo the enemy is killin

I can't believe you got as far as you did. I can't survive 10 minutes of action whether I play aggressively or try to hole up defensively to let them run out of resources. And apparently as you say, they don't run out of resources. I know the green team built 80 robots in the first 10 minutes, whereas the most I could hope to build was about 10 and in the course of doing so exhausting my resources for the game. I have read complaints on other boards about

This has been a major bug since the release of ToA. I haven't yet played 2.0, really I quit playing the game after this became an issue, but I encountered it in earlier releases. I can't believe they still haven't done anything about this. I made a thread about this before, and no one from Stardock replied. I have never seen them even mention this as an issue, so I assume they have no idea that these two civilizations are crippled in this way.
