Yeah it's a wide open game. I bought it, and couldn't stop. The no CD policy prevented laggy games due to junky CDs that won't stop creating problems. GC2 rocks! I'll be waiting for Dark Avatar....

300% food tiles: Put a farm there if the planet is big enough. Invasion Tactics: Mass Drivers And Core Detonation are pretty useful if you don't care about the penalties (-15% to -50%)

You need more morale boosting buildings, or just upgrade them. Take some off your tax and spending. Keeping spending at 100% is not that easy, so just save big tax and full spending until you need to or feel like rush building. If your playing on a fairly big map with lots of habitable planets you should start with 0% tax, 100% spending. It'll help your race's morale thru the game and will keep the morale when you reach the planet grab phase. That'll help you keep relatively high morale while ma

Keep the Metaverse, just add online Multiplayer where one person can play against up to 9 other real online players! Make it so one person can make a game ( with a difficulty limit-if say limit: tough then if the joiner's won more than once above that difficulty then he/she can't play.

Rendorax better cool down. I just got the game, played my first game, and - cool down, man! If this AI sucks, then go away and play something else! I've played starcraft age of empires 2 + 3, Diablo, Warcraft, battle for middle earth 2, civ IV, and it doesn't get much better than this. And, it's being updated. It's pretty good. FTL is a literal boost to very fast speeds, true, but requires folding of space or time, possibly both. While traveling at its normal speed (mach 1000K around), which is not that close to light, it simultaneously compresses space/time in front of the ship, and lengthens space/time behind the ship. Also, there are star gates (Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Galciv 2) which are portals which teleport the ship. The wavy stuff inside the gate's circle is an electromagnetic field.
