What kind of computer sytem do you have? To all of you out there who have been able to fire this game right up and play without any real issues, what kind of systems do you people have? I really didn't think this game was all that when it came to being too demanding for a decent system but with all the probs I keep having I have to wonder. I've been reading over all of these "strategies" so to speak and my main question is do they have a reference manual anywhere that shows what exactly an overall strategy should be? For instance, where kblore mentions not buying anything and striving for a 300% bonus tile, I am assuming obviously that the bonus is for the planet. So as a whole, are all the planets cumulative? Or is it that a 300% bonus tile on one planet would in effect be like three seperate factories on three seperate planets?

Can anyone be more specific about this economic penalty? I currently have about 1.5 million in my treasury and never noticed a penalty for having too much money. My popularity is still around 93% running at an 80% tax with an imperial government. Now I will say that during all of this most of my planets are busy cranking out ships so I don't know if that has anything to do with the economic penalty or not.

SETTING TAX RATES in Game Talk GalCiv2 Forums

I noticed while playing last night that as I adjusted the tax rate higher the popularity rating stayed the same, 88%, until my tax rate got around 80% at which time my popularity dropped to 4%. So naturally I backed the tax rate off a couple of ticks until my popularity went back to 88%. I left it there, as I was bringing in about four grand more than usual and went back to the main screen. How about an expansion that addresses all of the known bug issues as well as just bugs in general, that will run on a variety of computers with different operating hardware, and will be trouble free, out of the box (or from the download), with little if any tweaking necessary from the end user? Anyone else who loves this game agree with me on this one being the major sticking point as to why we should give Stardock our money?

Well thanks for the advice. No one else really seemed to know. Since my little bubble is now burst, I thought I had a decent machine since it was recently purchased, could you be a little more specific? Would this graphics set up cause the game to crash? Thanks for doing so. Regardless, I am at work so sometimes I am a bit hurried in typing my posts. The funny thing is, not one of my questions was answered, not even the one on megs to gigs. Sorry if some of you feel that what I ask is a non issue. I've thanked people many times over for suggestions,,,, so whatever. Why do you waste time typing a comment that has no use to the question? And furthermore, the continued posts are symbolic of my growing anger, disgust, and disenchantment at this product, which would have been a great game had it not had major issues.
