this is one of the most well behaved places ...................... Yeah, well, we've had our "moments". But Jafo walks softly and carries a big DELETE button.

All right, we've been patiently waiting for the "rest of the story". Do we have to get Paul Harvey in on this or what?
Might try Desktop Architect. It's FREE. Link
Seems to work ok here. Icon X configuration is accessed by right-clicking the desktop. Just found out by accident. Seems they would let us know somehow.
I was experimenting and got an older version- 3.00.041 (March-05) off my laptop and it works perfectly.
I am using 3.00a[b].003 Anything later causes problems with Icon X. There is no way to configure it. When I click on the Icon X icon, it brings up the Desktop X configuration screen. Even so, I cannot get ANY calendar to display properly. (Since I installed the latest version of Desktop X) I uninstalled it, restored to several earlier versions to get something to work. It still just isn't right. I don't have a restore point that goes back bef
Getting a little impatient because DesktopX hasn't been right since the newest build.
If it's a "sudden" problem, it may be the drive has bitten the proverbial dust.
Never mind. Seems ok :D
I can see a lot of file names, but everything looks like gibberish.
I am running GetDataBack right now. Looks promising.
Hope they get this fixed soon. Tired of uninstalling and reinstalling different builds to get everything working. Can't get ANY of the calendars to display correctly. Using 3.00a[b].003 now and seems to work the best. Anything newer won't run Icon X.
Tried Spinrite. Didn't work. I think the drive is too far gone. Can only recognize 10MB of 80GB. Hope I can get a refund. $89.00. I'm not sure about BartPE. I don't want to install an os, just recover data from it.
My wife's hard drive crashed and I'm looking for a good recovery program. Anyone have any good or bad experiences? Thanks!
Latest build still doesn't work right. 3.00a[b].002

Here's mine:
I will try that later today. Thanks!
Sorry, neither one did the trick. (I am talking about the drop-down favorites menu)
What if you're colorblind?
I have been searching through SkinStudio trying to find out where to change the text color of the Favorites (or bookmarks) but can't seem to locate it. Thanks
tlb123, I thought I would get my 2 cents in: I originally wanted an AMD, but they seemed rather scarce. Found a good deal on a Toshiba Satellite with a Pentium 4. If you plan on upgrading later, It will cost a lot more. (more than a desktop) So if you can, get what you want in the puter when you buy it. Something else to consider is power source. Batteries only last 2-4 hours and a 12 volt adapter will go from about $65 USD to over a hu
