This kind of quote is what depresses me. What is really depressing is that you Canadians have nothing better to do than make Canadian bacon and throw every bad singer (Celine Dion, Brian Adams) across the border. The day you guys can actually make a difference in the world, then maybe you can actually criticize what others do.

This is one of those "if we do nothing we are bad people but if we do something we are bad people". I love it how every one of these people somehow act as if things like this can actually be avoided. That somehow they are willing to just site in a room and have a laugh while making friendships and getting along. I personally don't care about the opinion of people like this. They got nothing better to do than just site there and let the people around the world die and when someone tries to do som

We are talking about every single person and business that is being charged more so a few can be filthy rich because they make something that we all need. When you can show me a company that does not charge me more so that they can make more money than they need, then I will follow your words. All you are doing is complaining about something that every company in this country does. My solution is to have another tax r

I see Col has learned a new trick. He now figured out how to combine CAPS with bold letter to try to get people to understand his confused mentality that even those who, on this site, hate or dislike Bush won't even grace him with a glance to his articles. WE HAD NO reason to attack Iraq unless they were a real danger to the U.S. That was NOT the case in 2002-2003. Yea, we should always wait to have a nuke dropped on us first before we ca

I'll be blunt about it. Col, you are a moron. Here you are complaining about the profits of a company that does not calculate in the hundreds or thousands but millions. You really need to stop looking at straight numbers and realize that people have the right to make a buck in this country and if others are dumb enough to pay the prices they come across then they are the ones who are idiots. How come you don't have a problem with homeless people who beg for money on intersections? Ever

Regardless of the meaning, the use of name calling is childish. I always say that when you resort to name calling when "debating" you already lost the argument. there is only 1 situation where name calling right off the back does not count as childish, and that is when the resident troll, Col gene, is on his "blame Bush for everything" campaign.

Paladin77 I'm sure you know this already but I will say it anyways. You are wasting your time, Col is the kind of person that will read an article that has the words Bush and bad in it and think that Bush is bad when the article actually said Bush had a bad headache. He's smart to a certain point, usually right up to the point when he starts WRITING IN CAPS or when he somehow blames Bush for problems that were here before the Bush name was even known. The only good thing t

How do the hundreds of thousands who own land in that area to get land to build on that is above sea level? Where do they get the money to build given the fact that most are poor and have no money or ability to borrow more even at low interest rates? Perhaps you can answer this to me: Why do people who live in tornado alley contin

You main point of the article was this: The more surprising question is when the people are clearly against a certain policy why those governments just keep pursuing the same misguided objective? It's simple. The American people vote and chose leaders that can do what they can't do so they can sit home and watch TV during their free time

The issue was not just Israel. Even if it was. I answered that by saying: We can still support Israel without creating new enemies. I am curious why you believe that it is possible to do this but you avoided saying how to do it? How exactly do you avoid making new enemies if you make friends with a group of people who have their own enemies? Ira

It's sad to think that people live under these conditions while people like us (at least me anyways) enjoy $10 and $11 an hour pay, high speed Internet, HD satellite, do it all cellphones and cars that can park themselves (I don't really have one but you get the point). But what will we do about it? Nothing, absolutely nothing. Because every time we do something to help people in these situations, someone will say we are looking for something in return; cheaper oil, more diamonds, better militar

If the alternative is starvation...do we do them a disservice by boycotting the diamond industry? I say yes. But boycotting would probably be impossible. Think about it, stay away from diamonds as much as you want but all you have to do is buy music, go to the movies, buy celebrity perfumes, etc and you will simply be adding a middle man to t

You do realize that this is all just to kick the Republicans in the balls. The Democrats have no real intentions of helping the American people. Real changes to real problems take time to understand, create a solution, then implement it. You don't just rush a bunch bills and claim to be doing the right thing. And please don't come with the crap about how they have had many years under Republican control to understand, create a solution and implement it. They spent more time making Republicans lo

I have been using FF for a while now. After reading many comments here on this site about how much better FF was compared to IE I was convinced to try it and I am very happy with it. Especially with all its add ons. I can not live without FF now.

The issue may not be WANT but NEED. If we try and increase the ground forces by 100,000, it remains to be scene if that can be accomplished under an ALL Volunteer force. Some American people believe in defending it more than you think they do Col. This is one of this things that you can only have an opinion on and not be able to prove it will be

LW Don't get me wrong, I agree with you 110%. I merely suggested the idea if we they gonna do it anyways and they really want to make a difference as they claim, why not make a real impact and actually give them something they can really work on. $7.25 an hour will not get anyone on their feet that have families. BTW, I did read the article and it was great, just not been getting a lot of sleep lately due to my 2 jobs so I have not had time to get my mind together and write a p

Macmatt: OK, I must have missed something here. Explain to me how is it that a guy who seems to know a lot about Apple PCs, has the word Mac in his name, says he likes Apple computers and sounds like your typical Mac Fanboy yet he has never used one? Talk about the biggest BSer I have seen on a website before. Like Buzz Lightyear says "you are a sad strange little". I don't plan on upgrading cause I just can't afford it at the mom

As much as I like to read all these facts that i don't understand, there is one thing I do understand that no one seems to point out at all. I work 2 jobs. On my day job, full-time, I earn $11 an hour. On my night job, part-time, I earn $10 an hour. I struggle a little to keep up with my bills, granted some I shouldn't even have if I can't afford them, but I can't live without satellite or Internet. Maybe someone here can explain to me how exactly will $7.25 will somehow get me out of poverty? H

Wow, this is the greatest thing I have seen yet. I look forward to a background of a thunderstorm with moving clouds, lightning and maybe even some rain. Like something out of rain forest. This would be very relaxing for a person, like me, who uses thunder storm sounds to sleep with. Wow, now I want Vista more than ever. I just hope something is done about the DRM issue I have heard so much about in Vista.

Bullshit, Charles. There is NO WAY you could have read what I wrote and got that out of it. That is not even REMOTELY what I said. Ok, inhumane was that wrong word, more immoral. However the "why kill him for doing something thats part of human nature". is from cacto. not you. Still, to me, moral or immoral, Saddam had to go. He was not responsib

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's lost, it is just not in our sights at the moment. As you say and many others, a new plan is needed, but leaving is not the solution. To walk away from Iraq and the leave the Iraqi people to their own fate that we created for them would make us worse than Saddam could have ever been. It's bad enough that many Iraqis have died as collateral damage due to this war, walking away would literally mean not caring about their lives and handing it to the dogs. <br/
