Sometimes I think that companies come up with the latest and “greatest” in technology not because they think it will be useful, beneficial and appealing to the consumer but b

Wow, I'm actually surprised at all the negative comments about a product that is nowhere near completion and in reality seems pretty cool compared to what we have today. Even more so I find it interesting how so many people take shots at MS's softwares when a great majority still use Windows in some fashion. My only conclusion as to why so many still have XP is because in most cases they simply either have not updated their PCs because they see no point in buying a new OS for an old PC when t

Considering the word "illegal" is in it, I would gander a guess that it's because of that word that Republicans think it should be a crime, or correctly stated, that Republicans state it's a crime. But don't take my word for it: ilegal - Contrary to or forbidden by law, esp. c

I don't know if I have ever looked at a game as anything awe-inspiring but I found most of the Call Of Duty games memorable. Starcraft II is sorta ground-breaking to me as I think it looks really cool, especially compared to the original. I also like the game style. GTA Vice City and San Andreas were very memorable. I have not played many games in my life so I can't point to any others that may have been groundbreaking or even original.

Ironically, I found my way to Joeuser.com and Stardock thru pirated software about 6 or 7 years ago. I even admitted it on these forums to Brad I believe (and it was cool of him not to boot me) but I had since then removed it and eventually purchased ObjectDesktop Ultimate although i can't currently use it because my subscription has been inactive for some time now. Sad I paid so much and now I have to go thru customer service to be able to get the softwa
OUCH! I hope it was not a shocking experience for you!
I guess the speaker felt left outside the PC case an was trying to crash the party inside. [e digicons]}:)[/e]
Generally true. I keep them until they die, but after a few years, they become secondary drives that just stores backup stuff. So if they do fail, no harm no foul (unless the primary fails as the same time).
I still have a 40GB and 200GB IDE hard drive in my kids old computer.

You know, if someone gets mad and says something insulting like this then I can understand if they later apologize. When one is angry it's not easy to stop oneself from saying things one shouldn't say. In this case Ed was not angry, he was being a clown, a talk show host. He planned this ahead of time. He had every intention of insulting Ingram in this manner except he apparently did not expect it to be picked up as so insulting. The guy had enough time to think about what he was gonna say be
But one area of disagreement - you do not have to be stupid. Just ignorant. After being infected the first time, then you become stupid if you get it a second time!
True, ignorant. But stupid sounds nicer. LOL
I always hear about Windows users having problems with trojans, etc. I've been using Windows since.... well, since there was a Windows OS to use. I have never had trojans, malware, or viruses. I have had several false-positives, but never the real thi

Who would have thought that someone would use a game like World Of Warcraft (WoW) as a tool for exploitation? Who would have thought anyone would be forced to play a game like WoW and somehow the enforcers would financially benefit from it. According to this Endgadget article that is exactly what a former Chinese prisoners complained about as he explained h

Although I can understand the reason behind the thoughts of those who are actually happy in some way over this Mac Defender trojan that has infected thousands of Mac computers in recent weeks, I am not sure this is really a cause for celebration amongst us Windows user. I mean who wouldn’t want to take an opportunity like this one to rub it in Apple Fanboy faces how their precious Mac computers are not as “bullet proof” as they make them out. How all it would take is someone willing to make t

Based on your article title. Just how many drive fails have you had? I've had a couple myself, lost 500GBs worth of video and audio. Luckily I had backups of my audio files at least. The video part took time to get again but I eventually got most of it back. I would love to get an ssd for my OS and games but too expensive for now. I did get a WD raptor for the speed and it does work wonders. To small size though.

Interesting thoughts about Cuba. But I guess going on vacation for a few days constitutes a good understanding of how great Cuba really is. What I can't help but figure out is why so many Cubans risk life and limb to cross the waters between Cuba and Florida to become US residents since everyone who goes to Cuba on vacation says that Cuba is great and all. I have friends from Cuba, my mother in laws husband is Cuban. His son came from Cuba a few years ago thru one of those lottery

It's interesting to see how not only does Obama get away with such things but how some think it's OK for him to get away with it after witnessing the same issues from previous presidents. I always thought when we came upon a problem that we would find a solution to fix it and prevent it from happening again. When it comes to politicians we always seem to have the same "what's the big deal, it's how it is" mentality. What i don't understand is why anyone complains at all.

They were called Bushism before, what will we call these? Let's see, take a guy who misspeaks words over one who is stupid, I'm sold. But then they say it takes one to know one and who voted for Obama? The stupids I guess.
sn't that usually how it is done around here. It has been some time now since reasonable facts were used in the opposing views, instead their time is spent mostly telling you how stupid you are and why ... without facts, go figure.
I'm glad you can finally admit this Boob, it's about time. You are now well on your way to fixing your problems. After all, the first step to solving your problems is admitting you have them
Oh, and someone in the last topic said something along the lines of... these factories make a lot of stuff, you can't just stop buying everything. Yes you can. Stay up-to-date as a consumer, when stuff like this gets revealed you have a duty against your fellow humans to act against it. Guess what - if you want to act like a moral person, you WILL HAVE TO PUT SOME EFFORT IN to avoid sweatshops like these. You CANNOT consider yourself a moral or ethical person if you close your eyes
I don't see it working.
Would you please elaborate? I would really like to hear why you don't think it will. 3D seems to be todays TV version of the iPhone where most can't really afford it, it's not absolutely necessary but people will get it anyways. It would only be natural that people will want to play with 3D video and youtube as well.

Just the other day I was watching a Tekzilla episode where they were talking about 3D TVs, the different 3D glasses that exist and how it affects people who use prescription glasses underneath the 3D glasses and it got me to think about the future of 3D TVs and how an article on Maximum PC states that although 3D TVs don’t seem to be catching on and don’t seem like they will due to the tech being too new and not developed enough, they still believe it’s not gonna go bye-bye any time soon if a
