I can't imagine why anyone would think they should get everything for free. I bet they're more than happy to put in a 40 hour a week for free - NOT. you can take DX and WB in your computer DX for the desktop with many useful and fun objects/widgets and WB to customized yours windows and shell.

I end up getting just a customized background, no theme though. How do I go about fixing this? DesktopX no load a windows visual style or xp theme but a customized desktop. many desktopx themes require a large widescreen resolution no no widescreen but many skinner make them themes in 1280x1024 but if you look in gallery you can find many (like those of Gef or mines and more other) with resolutions

I'm pretty sure there is no way unless the theme is a simple one. With all the widescreen resolutions about now especially. ok i agree at 100% with this! You can't make all objects with height width in % of the screen with all conflicts that make between objects in the theme!

Absolutely spot on Brain! I thought it was kind of silly myself. I got the 1,000 Downloads Award my 2nd day here as a BootSkinner, and thought, "Oh cool, wonder what I'll get next". A year later and that's STILL the only award I have!
