"Give the devs until tomorrow" ...

Hey, a bug is a bug, and this is the place to report bugs.
GalCiv: DA isn't always quitting cleanly on my system . Sometimes it locks up and doesn't let me get back to Windows.
"A detachment of marines . . . non-indigenous creatures . . . bred for combat . . . threaten the lives of any colonists" Yeah, the colonists and the ecosystem as well. They didn't belong there in the first place anyways. I don't care if I'm going for good alignment, I'd get rid of them. Anyways, yeah, nice improvements to the game . Keep up the good work!
BTW, GalCiv 2 updated also - what was changed there?
This build should be just about ready to go other than omissions (i.e. unhooked up features). It shouldn't crash or be unstable. It locked up when quitting the game from full screen mode.
If I get dual core, what I'd like to do is to shove the game onto one CPU and everything else onto another. No more of some application or some unexplained system task deciding to interrupt my game by hogging my CPU. Although it does make me wonder - why not do this with regular threads and scheduling? I thought current versions of Windows were supposed to support multitasking with or without multiple CPUs.
Is that what it does? I was hoping that it meant we automatically traded technologies. I guess not . I guess I'm not getting the point of this feature, then. It seems like a very odd thing to do, and the idea that the extra research/economy magically comes out of nowhere bothers me. It's got no real life equivalent, and doesn't seem to make any sense. Personally, I think it should be
If you have an AGP or PCIE slot, you should be able to find a good video card for whatever budget you have. Buy based on how much you can afford. You can get nVidia's 6 series cheap, and with the 8 series out, it's just gonna get cheaper. There's not much of an excuse to not have at least a 6 series (or equivalent) card anymore. If you have an old PCI slot, however, have no fear: The GeForce 6200 comes in a PCI version. It's not the greatest, and it has some video problems on my brother
I've been using letters for hull size less often than I used to, as I concern myself with stats and purpose rather than hull size. Keep it simple, I say. Basically, I have one letter for the purpose, a number for each chassis design, then a lowercase letter whenever I upgrade an existing chassis. Then, of course, a name. I've got a spreadsheet giving different types of names for the different roles.
Played half a game so for, and it looks like Dark Avatar is going to be a winner! First of all, hats off to excellent stability for a beta - played halfway through a game, no crashes in the game itself until I decided to invade a planet. Exiting the game, however, is a tad different: I don't always manage to get back to Windows when quitting. Overall, it's an excellent game, though! The updated graphics are cool, and all of the new features fit very nicely with the res
I obtained the beta just recently myself by pre-ordering the game. It seems as long as you pre-order, you can get the beta.
I thought I read somewhere that they were improving the tech tree, replacing all of the "Laser I, Laser II, Laser III" stuff with something a bit better. But that seems unchanged in the DA beta?
It's OK, they should be working on our game, not wasting time on the forums anyways. Back to work, slaves .
New feature: You can't keep going back and talking to races over and over. Only every few weeks can you (unless you're a Super Diplomat in which case you can go back much more often). Aww, trading a gazillion technologies so I wasn't behind the power curve was the best part . . . I finally decided and pre-ordered DA today, BTW <img src="
Personally, I'm not going to ask for perfection. I would, however, like people to at least try to get their grammar and spelling and grammar correct.
I heard two mice were plotting to take over the world, one going by the alias of "Pinky." Wait - *opens GalCiv2* - can I make my ships pink ?
Hi. No, I'm not going to read through the forums to see what issues here were already discussed. I don't have time to read other people's stuff, only my own stuff and responses to my own stuff. I'm not looking for comments from the peanut gallery, either. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. If you don't like what you see here, get over it. I'
I've never replied here, but: -It's the original Hebrew/Greek that are considered to be infallible. All translations are not considered to be infallible. -The originals are considered to be infallible because it is believed that God had inspired the authors.
Why does everybody think that everything on Steam is only on Steam? http://www.strategyfirst.com/en/games/SpaceEmpiresV/ From what I see, there is an option to buy a boxed set on their website. And Steam is actually quite good right now. There's no major problems with it like it was when it first came out. IMHO, it's time the anti-Steam rebellion ended - Valve has spent a lot of time and energy improving it and making it more stable.
I played Ancient Art of War on an ancient PCjr. The thing was probably as old as I was. BTW, I recommend any hardcore strategy gamers play it at least once. It's a great game, and still has stuff in it that today's games don't have! The DOS version (1984) can be found here: http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?gameid=58 You may need a DOS emulator to play it properly in Windows XP: http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/
I'm not too big a fan of conspiracy theories. Most of them probably aren't true, and honestly they don't affect my everyday life. And since it's hard to tell who's serious and not, I'm not gonna add anymore fuel to the fire . . .
Bah, Valve's Team Fortress 2 is going to be cartoony as well. The genre was getting a little bland anyways. I think the new textures look awesome, a lot more uniform detail . One texture per ship - UV mapping, I assume? As far as "cartoony" I'm not so sure. Perhaps too perfect, too clean? Just a tad off topic - does GC2 support bump mapping or multitexturing?
why the farm nerf? I thought farms needed to be buffed, not nerfed. Also, what about a planetary defense buff? I'm wondering the same thing.
The Republican party is about one thing: greed. What can I get and how can I screw over everyone else to get it. But at the core the Republican agenda is greed. And, of course, the Republicans accuse the Democrats of the same thing. Amusing how it all works . . . and amusing how many people just go around pointing fingers at eve
