The fact is, not many people are building and uploading skins any more (an art form going extinct?). So the average Joe isn't skinning....... what's left? MASTERS!! That's why you are seeing mostly masterskins on the WB page! It's not greed, there just aren't others out there making free skins to "balance the scale"
Dang you're quick, I can get a shortcut on the desktop but when I right click I'm not getting any "pin to" options.
I think I remember the trick. Pin something else to the start menu (like calculator or something) then change the target on the pinned item.
They were with sks7 but seem to have lost that ability with sks10.
I'm not sure if that is an sks 10 issue or a WB10 issue. It's WB that renders what you've done in sks but if there's screwy code in sks.....
If you are on windows 7, try this: Search for skinstudio with search function on start menu. Right click and select properties (keep properties window open). Now go to your desktop and right click. Make a new shortcut. Copy target location from the skinstudio properties. try to pin that to the start menu.
Works on Windows 10 with start 10 (remember to choose "pin to start menu (start 10)")
Everything are working great with Windowblinds 10 and Start10 on Windows 10! No installation issues or mouse over problems on start button. Congrats!
You're right N, When I wrote that, I obviously didn't have the most current build installed. Mouseover is fine now!
It looks like you tweaked the look of the skin and found the perfect wallpaper.
It's such a great skin but the original is only XP. I felt a great need to "finish" it for my personal use [e digicons]:borg:[/e]
Link?
For personal use only. I never bothered asking for permission to upload because skinners rarely give that in my experience. I have a completly Windows 7-10 compatible version of Fett just sitting here.
It's not included, it's just one I love and wanted to use for a screenshot. You can find it at https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/5938/
Ah, cool. /me did a complete W7 version that looks awesome because it has all the newer elements skinned
Yes and annoyingly the skin itself does not show that issue with the release version of WB10. I have raised my 'concerns' over this.
I don't have the skin Fett, Neil. Could it be because I have a personal windows 7 tweak that I did years ago installed?
I would like to recreate the closest appeance to the Windows Classic (XP Like) theme on Windows 7
Are we there already? Where luna is a classic? [e digicons]:omg:[/e]
There should be an XP-ish skin preinstalled. Xp facelift or something.
Still no mouseover state on the start button....... [e digicons]:'([/e]
Shawn aka SkOriginals.....still have him on FB.
Says on FB that he's working at Home Depot.
Shawn aka SkOriginals.....still have him on FB.
Not a skinner but an important voice here "in the day" MySecret. She just dropped off the face of the earth, it seems.
If this is Windows 10 I believe it no longer supports changing of the control panel sidebar background. Future WB builds will detect text set to white and correct it to avoid invisibility issues.
From the WB 10 beta thread: https://forums.wincustomize.com/474074
If anyone is wondering how to change the mouseover image for the task view, taskbar search and notification icon on the taskbar, you need to skin the pinned item. Oddly it's not visible when using category view in Sks.....change to tree view to find it.
new info
Let me rephrase that. There is a 'pressed' state, I guess you call it, (mouse over and normal work) but 'pressed' does not.
Nothing new there. It's hasn't worked since win7
There are proggies to restore your registry to default windows....just sayin'. anything that "tweaks" aero or "themes" the OS most likely will effect windowblinds. I'm not support staff or anything, just a long time user/skinner of WB. I'll let an official SD rep answer you instead.
Not sure what you mean, is there something they did that I would need to change back for Window Blinds to work?
Anything you do to the registry might interfere with WB. WB works best with a "clean" OS.
