targeting computer is most certainly not useful early game, period. its meant for later game when you have many MORE pirates floating around, its much smarter to go with another ship for the time being. and "the extra planets"? I've yet to see an akkan player cap more planets than I do, for that fact I've yet to see an akkan player cap more planets than any other non-akkan player. its definately not significant.

dammit, you spliced my edit, thanks a lot eet: anny I wanted to say that the battle actually had helped me. it was pretty much the first serious battle against another vasari race, and I was quite unprepared. you beat me on fair and square grounds, that I can admit through and through. in fact, I might be able to admit that I admired your macromanagement. what I cannot stand by and let be twisted is that I lost despite having numerous advantages, that I failed despite having al
I did not look far into it but it appears that extractors that do not orbit actual planets, (extractors orbiting asteroid colonies) did not recieve the tech bonus. Im going to do more testing on this to be sure.
mica we went over this already... you cant readily see the effect, but its there.

the akkan is benefitial for three purposes 1) for getting that one, maybe two planets quicker than your opponent and 2) assassinating a cap ship if you are at least level 4 and the cap ship is alone/outnumbered. 3) capping an opponent's planet that he has just recently cleared (before he gets the chance) people who think that the akkan is used for spree capping are kidding themselves, it just doesnt move quickly enough.

what you people misunderstand are my objectives here, I'm not here to defend the fact that I lost or that I fucked up. I'm here to say that anny's rediculous fanfare about how be beat me once is a whole bunch of 90% crap, there is that 10% of truth: he beat me and not entirely without good reason, but he did not beat me in an utterly crushing defeat like he claims repeatedly. it was a single battle, a somewhat interesting (if stagnant) battle, but a good battle nonetheless I fucked up,
Yeah, laughing at people with god-complexes is fun, isn't it?
and you're the god of humility? because you almost won all three of our little duels, eh?
The TEC LRM does indeed have greater range, but does a different damage type. The Vasari missile frigate does anti-capital damage primarily, but DOES NOT have the range of the TEC's counterpart. Again, how could you not know this
because it ain't true. thats why

the LRM is designed almost specifically to break turret-dependant defenses Annatar, their range far exceeds that of the defense. if you sent yours in too close (if that was the case, its not what I remember) that is completely your fault.
Amusing that you didn't post the actual replay, but here it is. I don't feel the need to write anything, people can watch it and laugh at you without my help.
I dont have access to the replay right now, but thank you for putting it
It wasn't me that you played a rusher with
Ron I remember it clear as day, you had your sova at my planet and were panicking because the marza was blowing your HW away at a rediculous speed. you sent your sova back to retaliate but when you got there you simply didnt have the strike power nescessary to take down the marza (even with an equal (or greater, I forget) number of frigs)

because anny has been going about making a huge stink of this, I'm here to dispell the propoganda. this is a half-second created chart of my decisions, anyone with half a brain should be able to follow my subsequent explanation: my position was behind a single (dead?) asteroid, it was obviously quite tempting to sit there and defend because our empires were comparable in size and I had the

what guide are you even talking about? we had the dispute in IRC, thats how the crap got started
3) Since half the stuff in your strategy guide was mostly as common sense as "when trying to breathe, make sure your nose/mouth are not obstructed"
since we're dealing with noobs this is hardly my fault. so lessee... bar that theres nothing left to prove, so what exactly are you going to prove again?

yes, thing is I have this big ass sword for a reason I usually cut then sprinkle with salt to prevent regrowth :P when that fails theres always the hot-chick bodyguard with the even bigger swords. Anny you're making a bunch of mistakes and misconceptions, first off being that I told you one thing, not many. in any case you're wrong in almost all of those elements (I think save that I challenged you... maybe) but the game itself was what took forever.
That's one of the Vasari support cruisers. Honestly, I forget which one I *think* it's the Subverter.
I thought it looked similar, but the subverter's tail is more errect, I'm cautiously optimistic that its a redesign.

I tried, but the one time I did the guy 1) challenged my thinking 2) challenged me 3) used my thinking instead of his own 4) beat me (after two or three hours long wait) so I've since stopped.

having played against both Ron and Yarlen with this tactic (or maybe it was multi) I can assure you the sova does not succeed. It simply doesnt have the attack power nescessary to kill another ship (let alone the Marza, are you Fing kidding me?) yes you could *try* to kite, but 2 or 3 bombers does barely more damage than gets regenerated, and its simply a matter of predicting the sova's path to catch up (not especially difficult considering that he has two directions, toward you and away) <b

yes, but that fleet will be torn apart by an even mildly experienced player, its still a chokepoint. thats of course assuming you werent stupid enough to trust your entire frontline planet to point defenses :\
guess its a can of worms with regards to game-play.
yes, and you induce more chokepoints which is a pain.
nah not a game-breaker. make it so the thing can't jump and can be attacked en-route...imagine trying to protect it mid way through a jump-line with
