I just hope SoaSE does get popular and doesn't fade away like Nexus... If everyone gets just two friends playing we should be fine

dthif1980, Thanks for the kind words. Great to read this kind of thing at the end of the day
Something that's always bothered me in space games is using my engines to keep burning when I'm not speeding up or fighting the pull of anything. Same here. Our engines only turn on while the ships are moving, although for coolness factor, they are still lit up when stationary
as for MP tech beta we would get way too distracted and concerned about balancing the 2 races wed have as opposed to noticing that every other shot of X new ship produces a small and silly error. You got it Gauntlet!
We are considering simultaneous Civic/Military research
You got it Leid27 Beta 3 my friend.
Wow, thanks for the well-detailed suggestions. phase lanes overlap sometimes. It is unlikely that you will see this being a problem in Beta 3. If there were several backdoors or other attack routes, each player would have to spread out his defenses and the "breakthrough" point would be a suprise You about to get your own surprise in Beta 3 that should take care of this <img src="http://images.stardock
Thanks Lyze...you are right! This is on the list and hopefully will be correct shortly.
Hi Wolf, I'll be your dev today, how may I help you?
If the environment changes it forces people to adapt to it Exactly how we felt ... but i believe in the idea and want the devs to know its important... We find these environmental elements important too! We received tons of great ideas from the forum, and you'll see some nice surprises in Beta 3. <img src="ht
Quick, Craig is on now if you catch him!
I don't get that feeling of awe inspiring power behind its weapons...the actual power is good but the graphical representation of weapons/ship isn't quite there. You are totally right. Weapon effects have taken a back set to other art assets during these early betas. A few effects are complete but most are currently using placeholders or first draft artwork. You can expect plenty more in this area closer to release
just love the attention to detail...who writes this stuff? Thanks Tomalexander There are several of us involved at Ironclad, including my brother Blair and myself. If the other(s) want to be named they'll speak up. The Sins lore is very deep - it's a shame we don't have the time to share everything in an organized fashion. With our wild d
Ok, here's a little theory behind the Hoshiko. It's probably some kind of fleet tender, which served to repair and maintain ships in space before the war, so there would be little need for a small profile or large broadside. There would be need to maximize the ammounts droids it can carry, which would result in a discs-haped ship. Alcari, have you been spying on us? This description is very close to the lore. Like most of the TEC fleet, the
Thanks Vandenburg. No worries, all the issues with the sun are on the todo list. The skybox artifacts you are seeing look extreme - you will see a bit of this in any space game skybox, but what from what I saw in your JPG's something looks wrong. The skyboxes have gone through a number of changes for Beta 3, except the light blue one - which may be replaced/revised eventually. This may resolve it. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif
Great idea. Will look into this one.
I'm gonna just say this right off the bat without meaning to cause offence, 'Come 2008 are we likely to see significantly updated ship models (comparable to X3 & Eve e.g 'http://img256.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hammerhead2ar8.jpg') or not?' If you like the hammerhead, you are going to love the Vasari Oh, and the orange back
I found the space really empty! What I see is just planets and stars. No asteroid belts and space anomalies (gaz clouds, etc.). dthif1980, Beta 3 will blow you away!
Fraser Cartel ftw Hehe. To be fair this falls under 'independant discovery'. Its unlikely that we will be changing the name though, as it is part of the TEC lore.
Can it be set up that fighters protect a target from bombers rather then running after something else? This should already be set up, but after testing it, it doesn't always appear to be working properly! Select your fighters and right click the capital ship. They should stay with him and protect against hostile bombers within range. There appears to be a problem when the capital ship moves. We're looking into it. Good find!
Craig, just a thing I have noticed, it seams that bonuses "clump" together on planets. Wow that sounds like you really know how to pick'm Clumps should be possible, but I'll look into the probabilities. Anyone else have extraodinary luck in the bonus department?
Craig, I hate to contradict you, and maybe this is a bug, but the bonuses are not automatically known when you discover a planet. Some of them like the porous/Dense core ones are, others like veteran miners and the trade goods are not. Also, I have yet to find any artifacts, although this could be due to the fact that the game is crashing every 30min - 1 hour. No, you are totally right Daishzen! I should have said "some" planet bonuses are know
Im one of those who dont use the infocards so how can i see what i got? We have something up our sleeve for you <img src="http://image
The Vasari can salvage debris.
I like it. We did that in our trailer
