I do not agree that we know if Congress had all the information about the danger Saddam posed. I agree with you here. The full intelligence was made avaiable to the full Congress. I think it was three or seven Democrats signed in and read it. They chose not to see the information as a complete picture. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" al

before the two of you wander even further into deeper fantasyland, lemme remind of the following: 1. paladin as author of the original post has responsibility for supporting his contention al quaeda was "being kicked out of Somalia by the local Muslims". to this point, he's avoided addressing the issue. Did that. <TABLE cellpadd

Good points gid, not everyone gets a chance to be a warrior, but let me be the first to say going to war ain't all what it's cracked up to be, trust me on this one. I have to agree with you here! I am still pullin lead out of my body some years later. For some reason I did not see getting shot as fun.

It appears that the democrats don’t want to win the war only gain more liberal voters. The decision to demand that the President not surge more troops into Iraq goes against what all the experts have cautioned. I guess col Gene will be disappointed that his hopes will be dashed just 24 hours after his high hopes that the Democrats would follow the same path as our President two years ago. I too was hoping that the Democrat takeover would result in change but it seems like more of the same.

Paladin77 - I think you may need to re-read the article as you seem to have entirely missed the point. Further it is more than a little odd to preface a long ststement about how appreciated civilians are by referring to them as "crybabies". Yeah, it is called sarcastic humor, you might want to look it up. The man that sparked the letter was a Ch

In that war Kuwait with its cash rich oil weatth had promised Iraq a sum of 30 billion US $ as its contribution to the war against Iran. Kuwait never kept the promise and Iraq was drained of its oil wealth during the course of the war. So now the 30 billion that Iraq owed Kuwait because he borrowed it to fund his war was a pledge from Kuwait? If

no one, including the Republicans, complained. Republicans will never complain because it is good for the nation and they won't hurt the nation in order to make political points. When you're a Democrat (or a liber

If we STOP spending $100 Billion in Iraq, Cut the Pork and end tax cuts to people that do not need the added money, we can do a lot of things that we need more then the Iraq war, Good point, in fact it is the same point that was made in the 90's when the Soviet Union fell. We slashed the number of troops from 1.5 million people, cut funding of t

I have run into crybabies like you a lot in my old profession. I worked at Lockheed-martin a defense contractor and all I heard was whining about how they did not serve in the military and how they wished they had served and did their part for their country. This particular statement came from a Chinese immigrant who wrote the algorithms that allows guided missiles to hit not just the building of choice but the specific room on a specific floor from 1800 miles away. To him and the other crybabie

what does any of that have to do with al quaeda "being kicked out of Somalia by the local Muslims"? Ok, show me reports of locals supporting them because I have not seen any. Granted that AQ has some friends in country as they do all over the world but I don't see them being welcomed with open arms and flowers like our troops were.

neither they nor the islamic courts union were--as you put it--"being kicked out of Somalia by the local Muslims". Let's see, there are only two countries that border Somalia, Kenya has closed the border to the radicals and has inserted troops to ensure the bad guys don't enter thier nation. Ethiopia has closed its border and inserted troops push

Kingbee, Nice try. You give me too much credit.I posted the article on the first of the month and you cite an aritcle dated the 5th of the month. I disputed your claim on the 4th of the month, I stopped reading the guardian 10 years ago when I left the UK. Back to the point at hand, How can you hold me accountable for articles that did not exist when I posted my article? I know you are a few hours ahead of me but 4 days ahead is a little much for me to be responsible for.

It was still forced onto society, no matter how you try to paint it. This is not true. Racism was forced on society in the form of Jim Crow laws, and fears of retaliation after the slaves were freed. So a small minority forced their crap on the rest of the nation through the legal system. My cousin was Roy Wilkins former head of the NAACP so I h

Or bring suit against the chief. Tell me what flunky cop is going to go against the chief executive who signs his paycheck. It would be a quick transition from cop to unemployed cop.

would expect a follower of the one true god (i.e. Allah) to REJECT a pagan name for a holy land, ESPECIALLY when that name was given to the land specifically to erase the land's connection with Allah. I would expect that you would not want to make this statement since Jews are not pagans. The Jews that chose to settle in the area called themselv
