Well after a little over a year using a Mac, I'm back to Windows. Just resubscribed to Object Desktop. You'll be seeing me hanging around here again. Nice to be back. So much to catch up on.
I hope I don't offend anybody but Frogboy is biased. Stardock products, Stardock site. Stardock makes their money from selling apps to customize peoples desktop. Of course he's gonna say Stardock products are better and Windows is better. What else is he gonna say. He's got to make Windows and his Stardock products look good. Money, money (even if it is not your main source of income. Stardock needs to keep selling) I know I'm gonna get ripped for this but I'm gonna say this. I'
Dang ok, one more thing. Can someone show proof who came up with the Widgets idea first? Was it Mac, Konfabulator, DesktopX, who. Obviously it must of struck a nerve with Brad(Frogboy). I guess he feels DesktopX was first. You all got me curious now.
Since switching to Mac 2 months ago, I say, Once You Go Mac, You Never Go Back. I love my Mac. OK Windows users, start the bashing. Here we go again. (damn 2 weeks ago I told myself not to post on Mac vs Win boards) Oh well!
Listen to jtfolden. He know his History on OSes. Thanks jt.
Who cares about who did what first or who copied who. (as long as nobody is breaking any laws) Why does everyone act like children when it comes to Mac versus Microsoft. Some people prefer Macs and some Microsoft. Some people prefer Chevrolet over Ford and vice versa. Sheesh. This my dad is better than your dad attitude is so childish. [Message Edited]
Like Sly Stone said, "Different Strokes For Different Folks" "I am no better and neither are you, we are the same in whatever we do" EVERYDAY PEOPLE - From the album STAND! circa 1969
Once you go Mac, you never go back.
eMac does me just fine for my needs. You all be jealous. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/lol.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmidd

Rebooted, nothing works.
I was at my WinXP computer the other day viewing my wallpaper in "Thumbnails" view in Windows Explorer and my dog jumped up and his paws landed on some of the keys on my keyboard. Well after my dog calmed down I looked up at my monitor and all the file and folder names are gone. The thumbnails are there just not the names. When I switch to another view all is ok. All the subfolders in thumbnail view are ok it's just my main wallpaper folder.(a subfolder of My Pictures) Any ideas? Please he
a setting on a previous version of WindowFX for adding a shadow to the WinXP taskbar I'm an OD subscriber and got the latest version and I don't see the setting. Wish FX for Start Panel could be reimplemented.

You skinners are getting very creative. The skins I've checked out are outstanding. Great job people. Keep it up. The GUI Olympics looks like it's coming along great too. Well, gotta go continue downloading.
Some of you know that my Mom has been ill of late. I just wanted to let you know she passed away last Wednesday morning. She went very peacefully with her family at her bedside. I will miss her dearly. Thanks to all of you for your well wishes and prayers. I Love You Ma.
Her life expectancy is still only 6 - 12 months but the doctor told us last night more like 6 months.
Thanks everybody for all the kind words and support. Here's an update: My Mom came out of the surgery with flying colors. She was surrounded by friends and family when she went into surgery and when she came out of surgery. We hope to have her home in about ten days.
We just found out recently that my 71 year old Mother has pancreatic cancer. Unfortunately it is located in an area of the pancreas that is difficult to treat. She has been ill since just before Thanksgiving and has hardly eatin anything since then. She's been in and out of the er from Nov. up until a week ago when doctors finally decided she should be hospitalized. They've run all kinds of tests and xrays and cat scans and biopsies. My Dad was with her yesterday when her doctor told her she
#37 by Rocky Nimda - 2/9/2004 2:21:11 PM I don't know, but I do know that Jario's work is some of the stuff I like best for ObjectDock, and almost all of it is glassy. Of course ObjectDock is kinda modeled after OSX. Woh. I totally agree. I forgot about Jairo Boudewyn. I must say his work is an exception to the rule. His work stands out.
