you can play the singleplayer/sandbox without internet connection, also u can play lan games if you have 2 pc's in your house.

if you have XP go here : C:\Documents and Settings\whatever your system is called\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting Edit the USER FILE (in notepad) change these 2 settings : VideoFullScreenWidth 1024 make it 1280 VideoFullScreenHeight 768 make it 720 and save it! you should be good to go

1. its damn fun , a bit of a learning curve , but you'll figure it out in about 30 min. 2. all seems very balanced, superweapons might need a looking at, but they are very very late game, if you can even get to them at all ( 2-3 hrs deep ) 3. after you get the basics its all about knowing where to keep your fleets , where to attack, where to defend, and what to research and when, and also make sure to keep the pirates attacking your enemy and not you!

yep , secret is to keep the colony ships 1 jump back so they always have enough to colonize the next world.
