I have to say I've been looking forward to playing the Vasari the most, but only by a little bit. All of the factions look really unique, and I'm sure it would be hard to pick a favourite team without a lot of play time.

The ships also have no max speed, just max acceleration. Or is the other way arround.... I'm sure they have a maximum acceleration either way, otherwise they could just jump to max speed instantly

As for getting back to the original question of this post, a really good TB4X game is Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. It's the same guy who did the Civilization series, but this one has a sci-fi theme. It's pretty old (1999), but I still play it with my friend. Definitely a great strategy game.
