Good idea Dave, thanks :) I still wondering though, why I can't use normally Windowblinds 8 ...
That's right Dave, I only hope that someone may have some good idea about my issue... [e digicons]:)[/e]
The things became so complicated dear friend Tom, so many operating systems, configurations, conflicts, incompatibilities… most of the times no one can find the reason of a problem… this is the real issue now days for a programmer, skinner or a user! [e digicons][/e]
Creating a skin, authors have to apply a skin too many times to see the changes they have made.. unfortunately this is not possible with Windowblinds 8 and Windows 8, I can apply only once the skin and does nothing if I want to apply the same skin again or any other skin... The only solution I have found is to restart every time to be able to see the changes I have made, after a restart it works fine but for one skin only and this is

Try one more time to do what the instructions bellow are saying with the following order: 1. Clear the gadget cache ( Local Setting\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX\ Gadget Cache folder) 2. Delete all the adni18 gadgets from your computer. (You will re-download them later). 3. Clear your registry form everything that
[quote who="Wizard1956" reply="73" id="3369705"]THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE!!!! Get that through your head!!!! What part of that is so hard for you to grasp??? Weiser, Idaho is fine, but Weiser, ID is even better. What you are saying are very strange dear Jim, I don't know why all these are happening to your computer. My wife's laptop has the original Windows XP Pro (SP3), with no updates and no antivirus or any other security utility, the XP are working fine and all the gadgets too, therefore there is no way to understand what is going on at your computer... sorry .</span
1. First put a space between coma and Idaho: Weiser, Idaho 2. Second, remember what I told you, my gadgets are working great with no errors in my wife's laptop for years now, she has Windows XP and no antivirus or anti malware etc 3. The .ini file doesn't exist but it is created after the gadget quits, (restart or shutdown), and it has your town info ONLY, you don't have to do anything with it and please don't delete it, just live i
Thanks Spencer, excellent choices! [e digicons][/e]
Maybe it is a conflict , because you are running at the same time 2 different weather apps... or a conflict with another utility...
Hi Jim again, I am sure that this is no a weather gadget issue, it is your Windows XP configuration or antivirus/firewall issue. I have this gadget in my wife's laptop, with Windows XP and no antivirus, running all these days without any problem. The only solution I can see is a fresh and clean Windows XP installation to your computer.
Hi Jim, it may be a Firewall issue , that doesn't allow weather updates from the internet, exclude this gadget from your XP Firewall, just an idea...
Wow... Great voice, music and lyrics! Bravo Noah!!! [e digicons][/e]
83672 is good for your city, try Weiser, ID if you want... but I guess this is not the problem. When you get an error you should accept the code that exist there by default ( UKXX0929) and after you can change it back to your city (83672). I have no idea why this is happening only with Windows XP and not with Vista or Seven... sorry Jim.
Hi Jim, What you write for your location? London. UK or Paris, France for example or just numbers? UKXX0929 is a city location for Hastings, United Kingdom
For some days now my weather gadgets (testing 3 of them) are working fine at my wife's laptop with XP, no problem at all... it is really strange to read that people have problems with weather gadgets and XP.... [e digicons]:|[/e]
Great work Tom! [e digicons][/e]
Strange, I just saw all the above posts...The last 2-3 years I didn't have any problem with the Weather Gadgets and I never hear any complain about their functionality. This an Internet connection problem, 99% , sorry I can't think any other solution for your computer issue.
It supposed to work fine with XP, strange... Have you seen the " Preferences "* of this gadget and checked the box "Run automatically when Windows start"? *Right click on the small gadget icon, at the tray, next to date, in the bottom right area of your monitor.
