I do believe you have to have impulse to use any Stardock App's Well To install note you can make impulse not load on start up,, or you can uninstall impulse BUT you will not get any updates I myself have Impulse not load on start up but do load it every now and then to check for ups

Did you Activate Win 7 that MIGHT have something to do with it to get there control Panel then System look at Window activation and see if Windows is activated and make sure your Product ID is right note if not done do your Experience Index that to might help OR just type Ssytem on the start Menu and look for (System) in the list
