The reason I'm posting a new thread on the saved game crashes issue is that no existing thread in the bug reports section had exactly the same issue as I do. I started having problems loading save games after installing DA 1.50X. I am using no mods of any kind, and have changed nothing except a few settings in the in game options menu. At first I thought it was all saved games that got corrupted, but recently I discovered that is not neccessaruily the case. I was able to start, save, a

Some new information for consideration. I've been playing a new game (started under 1.50X) for a few days now. Up until just now, I was able to load games and not have the same CTD problem as I reported earlier. However, just now, when I tried to load an autosave game from the in game menu it crashed before loading. Trying again from the DA start menu, the same thing happened. When I loaded a much earlier personally named save it loaded without problems. This may mean that there is a problem not
Mine are from games started under 1.50X and loaded running version 1.50X
I made an error. The debug.err file I posted above was from my GC2 directory, and not DA. Since this is a DA gaem and a DA problem, it is irrelevant and useless. Please find below the contents of my debug.err file from my DA directory. Sorry for the mix up, and thanks in advance for the assistance. like i said, i tried and it didnt work, and that's what I figured, but now I am trying to load a DA game started after installing 1.5x with 1.5x and it still crashes.
I am having the exact same problem. When I first installed DA and tried to load a save game and it crashed, I figured it was because DA wasn't compatible with DL, so I started a new game. I am able to start new games of DA with no problem as well. However, when I tried to load the new game of DA after a save I get the same Crash to desktop. I'm not sure what the problem is, but my debug message seems alot shorter than rcf051's. Debug Message: Version v1.5 last updated on: Thu Jan
For military ships, I use an "i" name that implies its primary use. For example, a ship that I create with false weapon profiles to throw the AI off my intended end-game arrmament would be the Implication, while troop ships would be named Imvasion or Insurrection, and my Capital ships usually have names like Iconoclast, Inferno, Incarnate and the like. For non-military ships I use an 'm' name, that implies use. My scout/anomaly ships are named Magellan, my freighters are named Marco P
The strongest AI players varry, depending on who has the closest borders to me, however, as a general rule, the Arceans and Dregins (yes Dregins) usually fall early to other AI players before I'm ready to go on the offensive
I appreciate all the advice and help. Honestly I dont know what more I can do (other than love bomb v. consistent trickle, or more trade) but I have +dipolmacy, ++historic friendship, ++trade, etc... the only negatives I have are -our close borders and -militaristic... and I dont know how to make the AI less militaristic, or get rid of our clsoe borders. I'm 'neutral' and the rest of the AIs are good leaning neutral. The whole reason I'm interested in alliances is that all 4 of my opponents are
Alliances/Foreign Relations What must be done to secure a status higher than friendly with alien races. I've played 5 games so far on different maps with different numbers and races of opponents and While my status with them at any given time is usually friendly, even in cases where I only have positives in my favor on the relations report screen I still cannot coax the AI to get 'close'. I have the highest diplomacy rating of any species in the game, 3 trade routes with every species,
whoops, I dunno what happened. but it's back... sorry for the usless post.
My "A few Questions" post disappeared! I got two replies, and replied to it myself, and now, all of a sudden it's gone. I checked under 'my posts' and it's not there. Did I do something wrong?
I would like a similar setup to the one you're describing, except perhaps with slightly fewer opponents. The best way I've come up with for acheiving that is to keep re starting the game (ctrl-n I think) until the homeworlds of everyone are far enough apart, and then tweaking a little here and there by artifically increasing PQ on some worlds with the ctrl-p cheat. Otherwise it'd take a map editor for you to do what you're proposing, and the only one I've heard talk of here on the forums seems t
I thought that was the case for starbase area of effect, but I doubted it because in the information section on the starbase there is a 'range' listing and it usually has it as something like 3.8 pc. but there's another listing of 'area' at 15 su. Just trying to clarify. Thanks for the help. I think starbases should be able to attack ships within their range, logically a well armed starbase wouldnt sit on its guns waiting for an enemy to attack it. I hope someone else can pro
Starbase area of effect Is the affected area of starbase modules the illuminated circle (the 17 parsec diameter) you see when the starbase is affected, or is it something else? For example, if I install factory upgrades to an economic starbase, do the module benefits extend to the edge of the illuminated circle and thus to any planets inside of it, or is it a smaller range, and if so, what is it? Starbase attack Do starbases with attack capability auto attack any enemy
