It's been awhile since I downloaded ABP, but it's a top suite, not sure why it's not working for you. All new apps will appear in the top left corner, you need to move them to where you want them. Right click on the Rainmeter icon in your system tray, hover over Themes and choose Manage Themes.

If the skins are packaged in .rmskin format (as they will be here), once downloaded all components are placed where they should be. And with alot of skinners including installing/configuring tools with their skins, it's easier to change colors, fonts, sizes, etc.
