Yeah, Tom! Great skinner, my faves are Enzo, 7Zone and Oni. Congrats on the feature!

I'm not a skinner, but I use Rainmeter all the time and find it quite easy to customize skins to my liking. But I have not created my own. Alot of people use Rainmeter and ObjectDock or DX at the same time. As Dragonmage mentioned, you should take a look at the tutorials and cruise through the forum. Over at deviantArt, we have a Rainmeter Group where you can find skins, ideas from screenshots, addons, etc... http://rainmeter.deviantart.com/
Ever notice that everyone always has an opinion about start buttons. I say it is fully up to the artist what he or she does for a start button.
That's why I asked with respect if there could be an optional button. Of course it's up to the artist, but by some of us asking, there's a chance that the artist will agree and then everyone is happy! I am not saying that a skin with a win/mac flag/orb is ugly, I'm just saying that 'I' don't like them, it's just a quirk of 'mine
Oops, I didn't see reply #26 before commenting. Awesome!
Very elegant looking skin, love the colors and shape of the start menu at the top. Is it possible to include a different start button, even the orb without the flag? I love all your skins but don't buy them (or other artists skins) because of the win flag/orb as a start button. I have an extremely strong aversion to Win or Mac start buttons but don't like to use Start Killer. As vStyler say's "you can't please everyone"...but you could sell more skins with that extra option. I
Here's a trick I discovered, since some of the more popular skinners here who do a remarkable job of creating skins are fans of minimalism, and I can't get enough color in my life -- if you create a texture in that's a solid color (or in your case, a metallic blue texture), and apply it....BAM! You colored a skin that was colorless!
Karen, that's a great tip, I haven't tried that before with the grey skins, thanks so much!
I have a link to WC on my blog page and on Flavors.me. I always put a news article on my deviantART profile page when Stardock has a sale on software as well as posting it on other websites I frequent.
Really excellent work! It recolors so nicely! [e digicons][/e]
Karmat: Best shot I've seen on here for a long while. A genuine effort at unifying the desktop. Kudos.
Thanks very much, Ooberman!
Nice one, PJ, very elegant!
Oni by Tom Richter...
I've already uninstalled it. It seems kinda outdated, plus I'm into much simpler setups.
3 times for me today. If the forums were working properly - what's the easiest way to post a new article, I'm always searching for a button?
If anybody's interested, you can get Aston2 for free for the rest of the day from Giveaway of the Day. I tried to post this earlier but the site wouldn't let me post it. I don't know if it's any good, haven't tried it yet.
Happy Birthday to you, Jazzi, have a good one!
7 Zone WB and Omnimo rainmeter panels...
My fave... Polaris by VStyler!!!!
Congrats, I know exactly how you feel, it's been 4 years, 1 1/2 months for me!
Sorry, I don't recognize it
What a great bunch to promote, all well deserved - congratulations to all!!!
All sites seem to have slowed down except for dA, I've never gotten into the forums there, but there's alot of visiting going on between people's homepages and group pages. It's definitely different here now.
Rainmeter is all over the place. looks like I need to learn how to mess with that crap now that DesktopX doesn't do systray on x64 and the weather scripts don't work either.
Everything you need can be found at http://rainmeter.net/RainCMS/ Have fun, it's addictive!
I just tried it and the same thing happens to me. I tried the Windows Aero by Microsoft and the Modified Aero by Stardock. The orbs and task bar don't change for me.
I noticed that too! I'm sure there's still some bugs to iron out with the new site.
