here is the screenshot of the skin. https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?searchtext=Alien+Mind&sort=Skin&order=Descending&library=13&action=1 She is having problems to contact the original author, so any help would make her very happy.

Well, Mark, this is up to her, she can allways post a screenshot, since she doesn't need a permission for that. I am confident that she will have it, the skin is too good and if I were the original authors I would never decline the permission, since she was very faithful to his pixels.

Today, I couldn't post one of the most fantastic windowblinds skin I ever saw because it is a port and didn't included the permission (even that was gave the original author the cradits for the inspiration). So, if you are making a port, be sure to have the permission granted before uploading the skin. I really hope that she can have this permission soon.

I never met a skinner but already spoke to Russ, Johanne and Jorge Coelho by phone, does this counts? Here in Brazil nobody knows about skinning, I just see a few brazilians around the community, but let me tell you an interesting short story. A few months ago I was on a Photoshop7 workgroup here and during the break I was on a group of guys that were talking about GUI design, sudenly

hmmm... I think I am having some kind of Doreenosis here I really can't agree with some arguments above, we still DO have some very creative artists around. a few examples: - In my opinion, Essorant, who is a veteran skinner, is being much more creative lately then in 1999/2000. - Alexandrie, that at that time used to be knowed as Lufia, is being 100% more creative today. - Hippy that used to make ports at that time, today is one of the most creative

as Brad pointed, today a wb skin has a minimum of the double of the graphics and settings that it used to have in the past. For you to make a 100% original skin you will spend a minimum of 40 hours to make a skin (IF you are an experimented skinner). I don't want to offend anyone, but it is very easy to say "hey, nothing new", when you don't make skins. You know what? this thread inspi

Well, what I can say is, taking windowblinds as an example, back in 1999/2000 we had around 400/500 skins done maximum and it was easier at that time to execute new ideas. Today we have almost 2000 skins done ( just Alexandrie and me allready made over 100 wb skins) almost every kind of titlebar button or scroll bar was allready made, so it becames harder and harder to find new things that was not done yet. I remember that I used to creat a new template in a few minutes, today

Adni, yesterday I took a look at the link provided by Carlitus and couldn't believe how many rips I founded (on their boot sections also have a bunch of them), people over there are ripping you, Carlitus, precurser, deaddreammer, etc... It was really frustrating to see. baker: Yup, unfortunatly I must say that in some parts, your previsions are allready hapenning. Some russian developers are ripping

This week I am planning to give me a digital picture camera. I am not an expert photographer, so I was planning to buy something not that sophisticated, between 1.2 and 2 mega pixels, but I don't know nothing about this....any advice?
