Just some good old fashion RTS culture.

It would be interesting if failing or succeeding in a quest could make another quest available much later. I love the Demon portal thing, but I also like the story behind it and can't help thinking: "wouldn't this be cool if, whether you close the portal or not, things escalated?". What if the Lord of Demons started meddling with the affairs of the plane of Elemental in a later quest? This could almost turn the game, temporarily, into a "let's put our differences aside and mount a Mount-Hyjal
In the broadest sense, almost every game is a RPG, as the term itself simply means that you, the player, play a game in which you take on some role.
Exactly. In the Monopoly boardgame, you play the role of a Tycoon, in IL-2, a Sturmovik pilot. But if I had to define what is the difference between an RPG in the more common sense of the term and those games, I'd say it's a matter of choice-based gameplay. A P&P RPG is almost only a game of choice (and, for many peopl

I think NelsMonsterX has been somewhat too harsh here, although I see his reasoning. As I said on another forum (to which Frogboy actually answered), this sounds like a Molyneux-ism. I'm confident part of this roadmap will be good games; I can't say that they will all be, but there is little evidence pointing to the mediocrity of all these games. If it had been Derek Smart, I'd have said otherwise, but it's a completely different situation. I don't know about FE, and I don't know what ar

Hi Derek, Can we expect a fix to the CoreUnitStats.xml*/CoreUnitGroupingTypes.xml/CoreUnitQualityTypes.xml trio, or would that require extensive changes to the code ? *Some parts of it work, like accuracy, but it's impossible to change base hit points from here anymore.

Derek, I have a couple questions about 1.2: -Is it going to follow the same update schedule as 1.1 ? Regular patches with incremental fixes/improvements ? Or does 1.19 contain the bulk of the changes we should expect in 1.2 ? -Can we expect more armor fixes ? From my experience in 1.19, it's still really broken, "blocked" results are the norm instead of the exception, and quality is still far superior to quantity. -Is the new spell (from the contest) going to be imple

Derek, could you please make a small change for us modders ? Using the same calculations, if the attackers had 30 attack instead, they'd have dealt 5 damage (166-161, because of the cap on attack). That's calculated using the same set of rolls than your 1-900, but raising the 10 and 14 to 15 (after square root). I'm... not sure it's enough, really. And if they had 20 attack... I mean, full light plate is 14 defense, and a broadsword is 15 attack. It's not like equal defense vs. attack was rare or extreme. Also, here, part of the problem
