Kryo, I have been keeping an eye on this issue, and have confirmed thateven if I reboot my pc and go directly to your web site the "launcher" program is present. Why?
LightVader
I realized that I had 4 trade routes from my home world to the same distant planet. Yet the max income was different for each one. So I sent one direct to the same planet and I sent one to the oposite corner first then to the same planet. The direct ship max was 97 while the one that went around the galaxy had 227? Can someone else get the same result? Maby it is a new bug for TOA.
Instead of sending your freighter directly to a planet, send it for a joyride around the galaxy for a while. The longer the ride, the more income you will get. It seems that the AI has no way of knowing how far the planets are! Have fun :}
The PQ1 worlds were quite usefull if you are neutral. They turn into pq16 worlds after you have all the techs. This gave you a great boosts around mid game when no other worlds are left. Bring them back please
I have noticed that there were no 700% industry or research tile bonusses in any of my game since TOA update. Have the devs changed the distribution rules again? I enjoy the game more when lots of high bonus tiles are available, in fact, I would like to see new bonus tiles added. An economy bonus tile would be nice! Maybe all purpose bonus tiles could be used for research, industry or economy. A 300 and 700% influence bonus tile would be handy
I don't think that A carrier ship is required. But some method for grouping a number of fleets and sending them to a location as an entity would be very usefull by itself. I suppose that in reality, the present fleets would become like squadrons of "X" ships that could be part of a fleet of "X" squadrons. This way the present attack software does not need to be changed much since squadrons would still fight other squadrons as fleets presently do, but if a fleet engages an other fleet,
I agree, the spy feature sucks. It is even worse in the last release TOA. They have reduced your income and raised the amount of spies that the civs throw at you. I just got hit with 8 spies in the same turn. I got rid of 3, but got four back the next turn. When I managed to buy an other spy 3 turns later, I negated one more spy, only to get an other one on the next turn. My economy is now F_______d and a game that I have invested a week playing is no longer any fun to play. I give up.
I am playing against 8 civs on an immense map. I am trying to win by influence and therefore using losts of constructors to feed all my influence stations. The Krynn planets are hard to flip, so you need almost 4 influence stations per world to turn them fast enough. Plus I have quite a large fleet of warships and transports to move around. I don't intend to attack, I am just matching the size of the Krynn army so they leave me alone while my influence grows. But the slow operation spe
- make it possible to give custom icons to ship types (just make it an option in the ship designer so that you can assign a custom icon there prior to saving; if you don't assign one, the standard icon will be used; if a larger set of icons to choose from would be included in the game, even better ); I find it a bit confusing on larger maps if there are for example only two different icons for attack ships
I have asked for this two years ago. It would make the game so muc
It is unfortunate that such a good game runs so darn slow. Is this not worthy of adressing, Stardock?
Yep, 4Gb of memory!
When playing on the largest galaxy the wait between turns is quite long at times. It gets longer as the number of ships and constructors increase it seems. May I suggest that we may not need to see all ships advance one sector at a time! An option to allow ships to jump "X" number of spaces would speed the game up. Players may in fact prefer to see only the original position of the ship then see it jump to its destination point. Maybe it flashes bright or something when it jumps or creates a tra
Thanks, I'll check it out.
I noticed that my compuiter disc drive is constantly writing when I log onto your site. My task manager shows that a second program called a Galciv II" Launcher" is running in the background. When I shut the launcher down, my disc drive stops all the writing, and your site works just fine still. What is that launcher program actually doing to my PC?
It's only a game, remember?
I have found myself in that position in most of the games I play in the largest maps. I find that all you really have to do is pay the strongest ennemy to fight all the others. While they are busy I concentrate on flipping as many of the strongest opponen't pannets as possible. As they become weaker, your population and income increases as your influence grows wild. I rarely have to go to war, but I do for the fun of it. I am playing in the painfull level against 8 opponents, with trading shut o
It happens consistently for me when I colonize a planet, buy a spaceport, and then start building some other improvement. On the start of the next turn, the planet reports that the spaceport is complete and the planet is now building nothing (even though in reality it is now building that other improvement). Yep, just like that. Consistently.
I have switched the game out of fullscreen mode and it has not crashed since. I will keep you informed!
I constantly get reports that a planet is "now building nothing", but in fact there is a build project waiting? Dark avatar does not exibit this problem. Is this a new bug?

The invasion screen must have been a last minute quick change. This would explane the lack of effort and creativity. After all, it is seen hundreds of times per game, it should be dazzling.
At first they don't build ships, then, they sudenly become the magor power in the universe. It,s even worse if you make them smarter.
Kryo, I have reloaded all 3 games but am still getting some crashes. Here is the error file on my latest one. What can be done now to rectify the issue? 1: I tried to include the terror star in a fleet, but the game keeps crashing. Can Stardock comment on this please. Can the terror star be made part of a fleet to protect it? Otherwise, how can you possibly protect it? 2: I found the The terror star to be a dissapointment. It moves so low, that its value and expence are in question! It is more benificial to use transports to invade, at least you get the planet and even a free Tech for the victory. Using the terror star you w
To win this game, the number of planets you colonize is everything. So make lots of colony ships and get the catography tech so you know where the planets are. Set your taxes higher until your approval is 65%. Buy one Lab and one factory. Ignore the 4 point planet, look for 10 or higher at first, you can get the smaller planets later on. Set your controls for 100% research until you have enough factory power to make ships in 8 turns or better. In the mean time buy a colony ship every turn. When
