It was digital download only, same as diplomacy. I bought a hard copy of Vanilla Sins when it came out, the normal copy, not the collector's Edition or the GOTY edition, I didn't get a tech tree map with it, nor a CD with music. So you can't claim that if you b
Speaking of posters, I remember when I bough Civ 2 that there was a nice sized poster that had the entire tech tree and stats of common units. I could get behind such a poster for sins.
If you bought a hard copy of vanilla sins and entrenchment, you would have a map. Of the tech tree. And a cd with music on it. It's still a good idea though. Is this ever going to take off? Can we upgrade our pre-order

Having some limiting element to creating Titans is definitely needed, but that will probably just come in the form of training crews. Not to mention everything about Titans is going to be incredibly expensive. I wonder if they'll be more expensive than the existing super weapons? They seem more powerful. Holy crap it's going to take a lot of time into the game play to get a Titan. Then again, there's something to do when you have all that money laying around and maxed out fleet po

For $100 I'd like to see in the CE: 1. A few decals for computer/whatever 2. Figurine of some ship (the vasari one sucking a planet dry would be cool) or starbase 3. Another figurine or two of the titains? Using super weapon to blow something up? :) 4. Poster 5. Cool box with modified cd box cover artwork 6. Whatever else you usually include in a Collectors Edition box. (certificate, etc.)
And now for something completely different: I'd like to see some way to interdict ships. basically, take the phase jump inhibitors and mobilize them and strength them. park them in the middle of a phase lane and it yanks ships out of phase space. Might be a good place to implement mines as well. I'd suggest making it an area affect so that vasari can get caught in it too instead of being immune as long as they make their own phase lan
What would you all do if the Vasari were running from a giant space monster? Either the Vasari are running from some sort of nano-based tech creation similar to the Replicators from Star Gate, or perhaps something that can manipulate anti-matter as a weapon, or perhaps something which can simply decompose matter seemingly at will and aborb it... So many ideas are out there, who knows...
Two t
Interesting but I doubt that will ever work. If a titan can go ahead and wreck an entire system of ships and structures by itself, the expenses for supporting such a ship will be prohibitive and not worth sacrificing the ship for extra resource that may be used earlier. My idea for the Titan class ship is to make them a "Dammit Rammit" ship. They should a mix of starbase and capital ship in structure and abilities.&nb
Titan Class Ships This one really gives me pause. What is the role of titans? What is their purpose? With capital ships and starbases both countered by bombers, and bombers being the dominant late-game unit to begin with, it would be total overkill for titans to be the same. So I'm actually rooting for some relatively strong anti-strike craft weaponry on these guys. The question becomes, what should their weaknesses be? They can't be un

Maybe it got bored, if it's intended prey han't invented anything useful in over 10000 years apart from how to get more mileage out of Scramble Bombers. I suppose if it involves a type of madness, rebellion could be a first sign? More seriously though, this could be an opportunity to rewrite t
Distant Stars for example, only added a few new techs, but nearly doubled the amount of research needed to complete a research tree forcing you to focus more or less on one type to get really strong at it really quick, or spread out the love and be a generalist, not really powerful in any one thing.
Sweet. Are they over at Moddb? Do you mean you have to spend more money on upgrades of current techs? There's a Real Capitol Ships mod

Does anyone know of a mod that massively expands the tech tree in SOSE - Diplomacy? Or one that gives you just a few added techs? If not, I guess I can wait till SOSE - Rebellion comes out, but I would like to see some tech tree expansion. That way, just like GalCiv2, you can spend a ton of money on research and always be ahead of the competition. If you research all the techs, and then pwn, but then later the AI researches all the techs, it becomes a simple battle of strategy(I use the word

Ok, wait a second, were would i find the ship files themselves if i made them in the ship-yard? Then the Data\ShipCfg folder... would it be under the twilight folder? And would i just be in the regular "Data" folder? Not under something like map editor?
