" think if we take away one groups constitutional rights, all of our constitutional rights are threatened" In my opinion, and I stress opinion, the violent gangs of all types surrender any constitutional protection the moment they become part of that culture. They are no longer American citizens, they are enemies of the state and decent people who follow the law and a sense of decency. Besides, I still challenge anyone to quote me the part of the Constituion that says someone who commit

"Also, on your points of classifying gangs, I think you run into trouble with 2 and 3." I said in a later reply to someone else that if any group does not meet any one of the three, they should be excluded from the effort. The gangs should meet all 3 criters. Those 3 when taken as a whole make it pretty clear.
Ahh, but the N.O. police today ran in to some of those imaginary smokescreens with guns. 1 dead, 3 injured, 1 critically, after being found roaming with guns and deciding to shoot it out with the police. Apparently there were people like that on the streets and one would assume if they would shoot it out with police, they certainly would have no hesitation in taking on defenseless people. Yesterday a man with a gun who challenged the police was shot dead at the Convention Center, where the rapes
I agree. The ACLU at one time actually did some good things. Now they are trying to survive on being an anti-government organization. Since the government is labeled a Christian entity right now, that is the religion they attack. If they are standing up for Constitutional law they need to do it consistently, not selectively. The Constitution gaurantees the separation of Church and State, not the separation of Christians and State. Perhaps they are afraid Moore will do a documentary against them
I see some other threads revolving around the issue of racism, looters in N.O. being mainly black and whether it is racist to notice. I looked back on this article thread and see where some of my responses may not be entirely clear on that topic. Indeed, it appears from the media images that the majority of the looters, and likely violent gang members, were black in this case. When I tried to refute race as a factor in reference to my original post, I was saying that in the big picture
In reply to a comment I made Dr, Guy made the following remark, "What is more important. Iran or your Daughter's first date?" I instantly found myself flooded with a torrent of images and scenarios, as well as a coming headache. I thought I would step out of my usual MO for posting and demonstrate how it played out in my mind. Humor is not my strong point, but here goes a try. Does any of this sound familair? NEWS ALERT! Iran has completed the conversion of enough ur
In the coming months and years there will be numerous investigations and "bipartisan" studies on who failed and who we can point a finger. A lot of that will be accurate, starting with Mayor Nagin, who was the first miserable failure in this. However, I wonder how many of those investigations and studies will take a hard look at the primary blame behind the aftermath violence? I suspect we will see very little mention of street gangs. While much of the looting and some of the violence
As I watch and read about the worsening aftermath from Hurricane Katrina, I can't help but be emotionally overwhelmed by many of the newest images. I watched a man break down as he told about how he held on to his wife's hand trying to save her and her last words telling him to take care of the kids. He lost her and his house that he worked a lifetime to have. I watched a couple express how luckey they were. They lost all possessions, but still had each other. I watced an 8 year
I see a tech story today in Wired News about the New York Civil Liberties Union's concern for my privacy with regards to surveillance cameras. They have hired college students to run around Manhattan to count and catalogue their locations. They are concerned that my privacy will be violated while walking down a public sidewalk or standing in the public area of a business. I do not know about others, but generally, when I go out to a public space I assume I am in public view. I take th
I have been following the recent revelations regarding Karl Rove and Joseph Wilson. Particularly Wilson's press conferences to show his outrage and demand the firing of Rove. I'll start with a a couple of previous quotes from Wilson. First he said in a CNN interview, â??My wife was not a clandestine officer the day that Bob Novak blew her identityâ?. This week he was quoted in a press conference as saying, â??Mr. Rove was talking to the press. And he was saying things like
Have you set the Preferences in Stardock Central to also show Betas? If not, you won't see them.
This is a departure for me as I usually write about something a little more charged in my other Blogs. However, I made an exception this time as I felt it almost a civic duty. Advent Rising for XBox, much hyped due to Unreal game engine and story by an award winning sci-fi author Orson Scott Card, has been very disappointing. First are the technical problems. Game developers have become much better at debugging before releasing XBox games in the higher end category. It almost
I agree. I just posted elsewhere about this "solution". There is clearly a problem with the SDC update or the WB4.5 update or SDC's site. Either way, making paying users jump through hoops to install an update that clearly has been provided wrong, is not good support. It is however, an easy way out for giving support. Come on guys, I've seen you do much better than that. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Yum.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle"
I would take exception to the solution. I am also having trouble with 4.5. In my case it says invalid URL wb4/production. Downloads all the support files and fails at the end when downloading the app. I have been able to duplicate this (without trying) on a laptop and a PC. It also updated SDC right before, I can't say which one is having a problem, but uninstall and reinstall is really not a very good answer when clearly something on SDC's end has gon
Well, here is my first attempt at a blog. Seems like a good chance to express my opinionated side. I am currently a Director of Security, IT and Provisioning at a regional Telecom. My background involves Cable industry, Law Enforcement, "Big Oil", High Level Conflict Management and Social Engineering. In the late 80s, early 90s I was a media hound. I have been on the Today show and numerous news programs. I have been around. With that as my background, I expect
I am a child of the late 60s. I cut my teeth on the new liberalism and call for equalities. A lot has changed since those days. In fact, the liberals of today are starting to resemble the conservatives of my day. I refer to the California school that has banned teaching of the Declaration of Independence because it contains the word "God". Now wait a minute
I had the same problem with updating via SDC - it thought I still had 1.02rcf, which was actually lower than it showed before the 1.04a update. This happened using the tray method and choosing Yes to update during the start of SDC. It corrected when I re-updated via SDC, but using the main UI to do it instead.
Very nice update. Very happy with the change for Task and System docks. Still a couple of bugs with random icons not showing up on the System dock (particularly the SD tray icons), but I have yet to see a single tray applet, Stardock or not, not have this problem. I did discover the redone icons for some common tray items, does not use them unless it is a clean install of OD+ though. Again, I do not regret registering this right away. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.gif"
It would be nice if new builds were a little easier for registered users to get. The link requires me to go through a lot of steps and then wait to get to it.
I would like to add a "keep on the track" comment to my wish for the tray above. The tray piece is very stable and is the first one for ObjectDock that has actually functioned without crashing and without icons doing "mysterious" things. I do not regret purchasing it. Now if only the 2 Stardock tray items would show in it They do give me pop ups from where the normal system tray is hidden.
No, that is not what I meant. The cursor changes even when not on the borders, and stays that way. It takes several minutes to go back to a pointer. Only when hovering over a tabbed dock. All things do appear in my system tray, what I meant was having it resize according to what is in it, like the win tray does when it is set to show all. Right now, I must rezise the bar to show all and then it stays that size whether icons are added or removed from the tray.
Nice work. I bought it, not bad for a beta. A couple of little issues. Tested these on 2 different machines to be sure. Occasionally the cursor changes to a up and down resizing cursor when hovering over a tabbed dock, does not appear over the original dock. The 2 Stardock tray items (Wincustomize and Stardock trays) do not show up in the system tray tabbed dock. If I tell the tabbed dock to be on right or left, the tabs become truncated. I can only see 2 or 3 of the tabs and the names
Like I said. My brain went to Florida and left the rest of me behind. Thanks, that was the problem.
I have that checked. Shows all betas for SDC and OD apps. Not for WC Browser. I have also done the check for updated apps option, etc.
I have the SDC 1.24 update. that works no problem. However, I still can not seem to find or update to the 1.29 beta for WC Browser. Yes, I checked the WC Browser tab, just shows 1.20, no updates available, eeven after manually telling it to check for updates, etc. It did pop up in Component Tray last night, but then disappeared forever. Help please? Anywhere to directly download it? <img src="http://images.sta
