Majority of endgame battle I played are choatic. Like in a very Huge map in Dominion 3, age of wonder games, and many other similar games that you have to controll muitiple individual units pieces on the map. Give heros general skills rating, so that they can act like another AI player but you have control on what he will do. This will lessen the amount of micromangement in the game. And let you focus on the main plan to defeat your enemy

So far all the post I read about regarding weapon are about its damage types like cutting, and blute. But what about the weapon Range for both melee and range type weapons? Also how many different types of weapon are available in the game? what are the weakness and strength compare it to other weapons?
All TC should be finished in 12 turns
I'm not sure if I like that idea. I understand if their a huge battle that will take over a hour to finished the whole tatical combat and it's a good idea to put a limit to it, but 12 turns? I rather let the suppy that my troops carry be my timer for when my tactical combat battle is over or unless, if no side take damages within the first 15-2
Since Elemental war on magice will be centering on Human race, and human is a very fragil motal race. Hit Point should remain low and reseach techology shouldn't give any bounse HP point added to any units. To help unit stay alive, unit should rely not only their armor for def but mobility to avoid taking hits from blade, arrow, or fangs. Some of the way mobility can be use Mobility use as a defense, unlike def from armor, mobility are used to dog
Quoting DemiBoss, reply 51 The different types of units are narrow down and the possibities of you creating the units that can do what you dream of is very slim. Why game of chess or shogi or even Go are one of the best bord games? not because they are complex, but because they offer more possibilites, which is near infinites compare to a game of Tic tick toe. I didn't want to bring chess or go into this, but well: you say ch

I'm getting it perfectly straight, thanks. But it seems you don't understand that combat is related to the rest of the game in many ways and trying to look at it separated from the other game systems is a mistake.
yes and to make
OK for people like vicenteC and other keep saying about Civi 4 tactical combat system regarding the Elemental combat system. let get some of the things clear first. Civi4 doesn't really have a tactical combat system, why do I say what I just said? Firstly Civi 4 tactical combat system is just a rolling the dice to see who will win, The unit stat is just to give the odds of winning the fight. To be truly called tactical combat the player should have some
Quoting DemiBoss, reply 33 Dominions 3 are one of the deepest game every created next to the romance of the three kingdom games. What do you mean dominions 3 is much simpler game overall than Elemental? Do you remember how complex is province building in Dominions? Can you customize units? Can you research technology? Dominions is a good game for the target Illwinder set to it, but that's a pretty different ta
Quoting Tormy-, reply 27 Huh? I don't understand your point. Dominions is a much simpler game overall than Elemental, that's why they can afford a pretty complex combat system (that is totally build around the concepts of human vs humand and play by mail). Elemental is a total different beast, even the game focus (single player) makes it totally different from a design perspective. Quoting Tormy-, reply 27What
I thought about using the DA exe and the DL exe to run the game at first, but that cause the game to run in pervious expension (DA) and their is no orginal GC II exe in the Ultimate Edition. Both the TOA exe and the Ultimate Edition exe seem to have tech tree problem when paying a scenarios since they both use TOA's tech tree. I bought the Ultimate Edition thinking that they fixed it since it's the last thing the developer did for GC II and it look like they spent alot of time on it

I just got my GCII Ultima Box copy shiped to me this week ^__^ I also own a Gold Edition of GII The problem I have right now is the Ultimate Edition, I can't play any of the scenario I chose in the new custom game. everytime when I finished sitting up my custom game, when I click next, next, next until I got to the loading screen everything freezes and crush or stop working....I have no trouble playing when I chose the normal scena
And whats your basis for assumming this? The company?
here are some of your answer. alot of game company really don't fixed their games after they release it by thinking it's over and done with. some game developers don't have the money to do it and their not paid to do it unlike stardock, so why should they do it? even if they did get a patch for it, it would be the usually patch" help pervent crush, help stablize the game, fix some critical bugs and problems oth
k thank you :3
I'm just wonder if this was a glitch or got changed by a patch. The amount of people I can transport to a ship with colony and troop module got decrease from 500 to 250 per module. and the module description say it can hold up to 500 per module. my homeworld has over 12 billion people I'm using Dark Avatar and I patch it to 1.80e and I use a pentium 4 2.8 ghz HT vista window XP sp2 I also use a dual core AMD 64 dual core 3 ghz with window vista
I dont wanna support piracy or somthing as i hate them personally...Ever wondered why there is piracy...its there bcoz the games r too costly here in asia..The west might be able to afford it..but games r just too costly here..Me myself can only buy a single game in 2-3 months or so..bcoz of the crazy high pricing...If the games could be a little bit more cheaper i bet a lot of people would stop buying pirated games..."I did open a thread related to this in the general section..."No one l
Thank god one company actually caters to me, a consumer of pc games. Thank you so very much. All that money in spent purchases on games, to finally have one company stand up for me an American who isn't Chinese with their 90% pirate rates. Thank god we have a company who doesn't target a 90% pirating foreign communist regime.By nature Communist believe everything is everyone elses, so why target them at all. A
I think something definitely needs to be approached differently about anti-piracy techniques. My Own example goes to the fact that I love Neverwinter Nights, and was completely excited to pre-order a DVD copy of Neverwinter Nights 2. The day comes I finally get my DVD in the mail open it and plop it in my computer, and what the hell it won't play. It turns out that atari's Anti-piracy software completely fried my DVD-RW drive. (I'm not the only person who suffered this unfortunate fate) s
In the past, I've used pirated games as extended demos, but I did a lot of thinking about software copyright in the early '90s (for my bachelor's thesis) and I ended up both rejecting the entire notion of copyright and becoming a consistent game buyer. I buy software because I understand that good games, like great music shows, fine paintings, and restaurant meals, are all made by people who "do stuff," and folks gotta eat. That doesn't mean anyone has yet persuaded me that John Perry Bar

I really prefere high-res icons than low-res icons. is there a way to put it in the graphic option so people with low end machine can change it into low-res themself?
They still seems to "know" all asteroid fields in the map, even if they are on fog of war zone. Is it possible to fix this? I just hate when my automated miners go on cruising to the furthest corner of map all the sudden. It's possible, but I would think that you're in the minority on this one.
