Why cant people understand you're supposed to make your own campaign..and play it the way you want to0oo?
I agree, gamespot actually got it right tho, in their negatives column they didn't put no campaign and he only made it as a very small complaint. Of course it is expected xplay not to understand

xplay 4/5 [link="http://www.g4tv.com/xplay/reviews/1718/Sins_Of_A_Solar_Empire.html"]WWW Link[/link] Pretty good, I personally dont like xplays reviews all that much but they do rate it highly.

Same here still waiting for mines. Normally I would get mad as I payed $10 for shipping but I am already playing the game, I ordered on 2/04/08 so i'm sure they received a ton of orders and need a lot of time to process. So i'll patiently wait till Friday till I get worried, Audiosurf is coming out on Friday I need music for it!

ha your that troll from Gamespot, now explain why you are taking the time to write a review on gamespot, troll the forums, and now register on post on the official forums for a game you have only played for ~20 minutes(Your writing suggests that). I'm sorry you didn't get the memo that this game requires a brain, they should have put that on the box with the system requirements.

I want my copy mainly for the physical items and I can finally sit down and read the manaul. I just dont want to read an 80 page manual over the computer. I'm hoping I recieve it tommorow. It better not arrive in a week or two(Thought they used priority mail anyways) because that would be highway robbery charging 10USD for shipping that takes 2 weeks. My motherboard's shipping was only ~5USD over at newegg. However I did read from an ICO employee that they should be arriving at the end
civ is the campaign, that game doesnt need a format storyline campaign because the game itself is the campaign, the whole premis of the game is basically to take over the world, and thats all it needs to be and as per the expansion, why should i pay for something that should have come in the original release? Wow, and you simply don't see ANY of your statement applying to Sins
Calling this game unfinished is a disgrace to human reasoning everywhere. Games as polished and finished such as this come once every 2-3 years.
Amen...some people need to get out of this mentality that games must have a linear, hold your hand campaign to be a complete game. The MP and SP skirmish games will have more depth than any campaign could provide.

Give it time, there is still much to learn. I personally started my first game on normal AI and was destroyed, I was still under other games mentality that normal AI is still pretty easy and a good starting point. Well not for Sins, when you start out I recommend you set it to easy defensive on small maps then work your way up. Later I will progress to easy AI FFA 3vs3 so I can ease my way into learning diplomacy and bounties with more players easily. I started at 2vs2 and that was not

I would say give it time, the more experience you get, you will learn how to use pirates in your favor to turn the tide of things. I dont think pirates are random, everybody has control in who they attack through bounties so it adds a whole new layer of strategy to the game. Pirates in space is a very believable thing. There are pirates in the world today still, of course with all this war breaking out individuals are going to band together and do stuff for the highest bidder. Mercenar

I agree, this system needs some tweaks to it. I feel like i'm constantly being bullied and I dont have any power diplomacy wise. I would like an option to decline missions or maybe just reduce the penalty for choosing to ignore them. Why cant they understand i'm too busy to accept your request but i'll help you later. Personally I would like the system where you have to do more missions(you can choose to decline with no penalty) to gain favor but they dont get all pissy when

The pirates are a very innovative and great idea imo. Adds a new layer of strategy to the game. It is very annoying starting out for the first time tho as I was struggling with my economy to build up a fleet and bidding wars was not helping either. I personally think the mission system needs to be revised instead of the pirate system.

The learning curve is pretty big imo. I'm sure reading the manual may help but I personally dont like reading a lot of text over a computer monitor so i'm waiting for my copy in the mail to read it and the research chart. I think I am finally picking up on the game. After struggling with my economy and to build up a fleet everything finally clicked. I have enough trade ports to generate enough income to provide for my big fleets while at the same time continue in the bidding war with p

Hey, Everytime I try to log onto a sins MP game that is already being hosted I get the error connection failed rejected by host. I have tried opening my ports for TCP/UDP 6112 under the name Sins of a solar Empire and GameHostPort. None seem to be working and this is under 64 bit vista. Also, Everytime I log out of the game it creates a dump and brings up the (sins of a solar empire is not responding, closing sign up) Here is one of the files: http://rapidshare.com/files/89

I think some stores will have the game tommorow(hope my walmart has it, I dont want to be tempted to buy the collectors edition for 59.99USD. I really want a hard copy of the game). I think this thread implies that it will be in some with the title being about launch day and the "if you are buying it at a store".

I know my local best buy wont have it until tuesday. So tommorow after school i'm going to see if walmart has it stocked, if not i'll just go home and buy the collectors edition online :). win-win situation imo.
i dont put much sway in reviewers. ive encountered multiple situations where reviewers have handed out rave reviews (doom 3) and i disliked the game very much. i just dont see why they wouldnt release a demo unless they know it will turn customers away rather than bring them in
Well thats why I dissect the reviews to see what exactly the reviewer is saying that makes the game so good if he is raving about it. In the case of Doom 3,

There will be many review sites that will review the game when it comes out. Reading many of them will give a good idea if you will like this game and what its weaknesses are. You can use this to figure out if the game has the type of things you like in a game. Not all games can have their demo out before or shortly after release, the Witcher didn't have it out for awhile. Please dont pirate any of stardock/ironclad's work, they work so hard on this game and especially with their no DRM
