That makes total sense...I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks much, SGT1

Did everything as directed but update did not work! Still goes back to old UI!
Duke261, it's always helpful to say what OS,installed version, update # ,and 32 or 64 bit when troubleshooting IP. Also, did you re-boot after updating? Impulse or SDC?
Your right...I should know better...Vista Home Premium, 32 bit,The update was 3.99.148 & I was loading it through Impulse. I didn't reboot as it did not direct me to do so. Installed version is 3.99.146
I just did an update for Icon Packager. When the update was finished it restored the program to the old interface. I did a system restore to change it back but I'm wondering what's going on. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
Way to go,Jack!
Hey guys...I just updated IP through SDC and it's the new version. Thought you might like to know. Duke 261, CP...how ya'll doing? Hope all is well.
Doing well, CarGuy...thanks for asking! Well I'll be darn...I couldn't get it to save my life. You must be living right!!!
Nice to see you around anyway Duke!
Hi Cp...yea I'm still around...just not posting SS's...at least for now! I do miss hearing from you. ;)
Ekimragz...that is the same problem I was talking about. If you want the new version of IP you have to get it through Impulse. Here is what I did... Forget about SDC for the time being. 1 Download & Install Impulse from the link provided in reply 1 above. 2 Open Impulse & select the My desktop tab at top. 3 Select Icon Packager. 4 Uninstall Iconpackager 5 Reinstall Icon Packager from Impulse 6 Run Icon Packager and the version will now have the new interface. <br
Thanks Phily as I really didn't know what to do!
Disregard...I solved my problem. It has to be done from Impulse not SDC to get the new IP interface. http://storage.stardock.com/files/Impulse_setup.exe
I followed the thread on the release of OD 2008 & found that I had to install IP from Impulse to get the new Interface. Uninstalling IP from SDC & reinstalling IP will not give me the new interface eventhough the version is the latest one. So luckily the link for Impulse was posted in the thread, I beleive by you Zubaz, So I downloaded & installed Impulse...then uninstalled & reinstalled IP from Impulse & I got the new interface. So now I will just use Impulse insteas of SDC. Not sure if I shoul
Disregard - I solved my problem!!
I don't really have an answer for you thug but I'm getting same message from SDC & I don't have Impulse. Things don't seem right with SD today. I'm not getting program updates either. Just thought I'd let you know what's happening to me!
I am not sure but it does not appear to me that I am getting the latest Program updates mentioned in the video presentation of OD 2008. To be specific I still have the old user interface for IP. I have been installing all the latest updated that come to me via SDC but I have not done anything new to update to OD 2008. I'm very confused...my subscriotion is still valid. Any thoughts as to why I have not received the latest version of IP. My current installation is 3.99.143 x86. Is there something
My question has to do with my impression that a new version of IP was released that had a new looking user interface...looks similar to the interface of Window Blinds. This new IP allows for recoloring of complete Packages. My current IP is 3.99.143(x86) 2007. I just installed a new update thinking that would be it but no luck. Is there such a version of IP & if so how do I update to it. My year subscription to Object Desktop is current. Thanks. Duke
I don't know where to even begin exploring this process. We have a category in our gallery called Sidebar Styler. I use this app frequently. I like side bar styler better than desktop sidebar as DS does not like my system...causes multiple crashes. There are not many Bars available in the gallery so I thought I might give creating one a go. I cannot find any instruction on to skin for this app. Does anyone have any idea how to go about making bars for use with Sidebar Styler??
Best wishes Jack!!
Desktop Sidebar would be an excellent addition.
Best Wishes,Tim!! :D
I have a big understanding of what you mean, they are all a bit out of the norm for color but that was my intention.
Yeah but that's what makes them unique & I love the color...something will click. I have no doubt you'll overcome your road blocks. :)
my first ever windowblind called Maja Pearl
Noiram, Glad to hear you're working on a WB for the Maja Pearl elements. I've been trying to put something together with them...nothing is clicking for me at this point!
Best wishes, Javier! :CONGRAT:
The problem was resolved for me by the most recent Cursor FX update I received thru Stardock Central/Object Desktop! It all runs like a top for now! :)
Angus, I was fooling around with GimpShop but I couldn't get help files...I could get the latter edition help files for the GIMP but GimpShop wouldn't install them. What did you do for help files?
Thanks to all for the help you provided in choosing a graphics app. I am going with Paint.net!!! :)
