Well having a class or demigod devoted entirely to Support / undermining support is retarded. But who says Torchbearer can't light someone on fire. Or maybe the unclean Beast doesn't get a poison or disease(spreadable?) These are all conditions or status effects that would negatively effect your enemy in some way. But the characters who get them can still fend for themselves, it's just an added thing. Your not going to have someone who can have access to them all but you might have seve

So i post 3 days before TBO about capturing points giving currency but yet you quote him... I call shenanigan!
Yeah the standardized Conditions in Guild Wars made the game really easy to understand that mechanic, and you could actively compare skills to one another without breaking out your Abacus. If they have things like this, Burning!!!! like the torchbearer probably gets this would be an easy way to implement it, from a user friendly perspective of course. the Guild wars conditions were, Blind, Cripple, Dazed, Burning, Poison, Diesease, Weakness, Bleeding Getting to fa
Depending on how the game launches, they could always keep the external method. So that your record does not display in game(as custom games would be P2P like supcom??) but when your out of a game you can look up ranks, profile stats, etc.
Ohh I'm wrong, one of the few times I'm glad I'm wrong
80 Demigods would not be too many.../
You try concept, modeling, art, and balance on 80 different heroes. After reading all of your posts in this forum so far i think your coming into this with insanely high expectations. the reason DoTA has so many heroes is because all the character models and art are already in the engine of the game. Demigod is being built from the bottom to the top off the supcom engine and is inherrently going to be far more complicated
PAX is probably 2 of the most complete demigods on the waterfall map we've seen alot of screens of. It seems finished(or the most finished...?) I hope i'm wrong but with everything we've seen so far thats my most logical conclusion
Shokk If it's a custom game yes they would see your chosen demigod. And currently if you choose random everyone sees "Random" as your selection and you don't know until you launch the game
No Loomismeister, It might as well not be called DoTA2, You should do a bit more in depthy reading on what has been posted on these forums or published around the net about Demigod before making that claim. Demigod draws inspiration and mechanics from many different genres and titles.
Shadowgandor, Given how Demigod will be controlled drawing anything wouldn't work well. From what I assume the game to play like, it would be more like Guild wars in the click and move, so drawing a spell would make your Demigod look... well, somewhat mentally impaired
Did you see me include the word stupid in any of my posts in this thread? Nothing I've said here has included an attack on the intellect of anyone who might pick random. If however they "don't give a fuck" about the outcome of the game then them not having an advantage is irrelevant, as in your argument. Either everyone can see what everyone is or no one can see who everyone is. Really all i care about this applying to is ranked matches, but for the sake of conformity between ranked and
I never said i'd pick the same guy everytime, i just feel that if i stick to heroes i'm best with my enemy should not get an edge by going random. If the outcome of the match really matters why leave it to chance?
You raise a valid point. General it is. With a song so sad it will rend your soul with the melody.
In Dota, the "lead" is really very small in the case you get a good hero and would balance out for when you don't get such a "good" hero
So what your telling me is that i have to play more then 1 game with my enemy for the negative choice to possible take effect? And how exactly does that make the current match balanced?
It's really only pushed back 5 days, as they tabled August as the beta start date. so thats anywhere from 1-31
It's ok Ron, we are with you in thought. I hadn't seen that Flash video till he posted that and someone told me to watch it
But in Demigod your not buying your hero. And it still doesn't give a decent reason why picking random should give you an advantage over your enemy.
NO! The original one was the Rook dancing on the pink background, Nothing past that was original. So while a new animation would be funny to see, you sticking it on 5 different backdrops would again, not be original.
I've always seen random as an entertainment choice, not a tactical choice, it getting an advantage or someone who chooses their demigod doesn't make any sense. Especially when you consider they've said for ranked games everyone will start on a level playing field at the beginning of the match. I know their comment applied to Demigod's themselves but why should it be limited to that.
I think someone has to say it before you make the Youtube community hate Demigod. Could you stop adding this animation to different backgrounds, It is identical each and every time.
Actually reading your post hit me with an Idea OnyxBMW. Lets use your spiral/tentacle one, as that was the idea that came to my mind earlier. You have a central combat area in the middle, And you have 3/4/ Extended arms around the outside 1 for each base. The Spawning NPC's for each team/base will always run towards the middle. In the very middle of the map is a control point/tower/whatever, Once your team takes control of that point they can then change it's facing, now your NPC u
Demigod does use a smaller scale and that would at least help with some of supcoms problems, From all the screens and the trailer we saw recently, i've only see the Generals units following him/her around though, so it might not even be a relevant request(i hope that it is) but we don;t yet know the full mechanics of Generals yet
ha ha, for shits and giggles, How about a Lightning/Musical Bard assassin, and we call him "The Conductor" ahh i amuse myself so easily
Fire and Ice are all the rage because they are the ultimate opposites. Fire is to Ice as as Jedi is to sith, or Hippie to conservative, Or children vs blender! ok never midn that last one was mine. People have a natural fascination with fire and always will. Sure lightning is cool but fire keeps burning even after lightning strikes. Guild wars had a good system of spells, i really enjoyed my options in that game, and i would like to see some more elemental things as you say. Wh
LETS GET READY TO RUMBLLLLLLLLLE! yeah i know what your getting at, Different team structures and modes really keep a game fresh and current. Being able to play an FFA is always great fun. if it were to be an official feature now woudl certainly be the time to start working on it. Other then that the community will have lots of talented mods
