You know who's radical? You really wanna know who's radical? Me, babeh. I'm totally radical. [/hijack]
:P
Teh truth is what you think is hate speech I may not
You want teh truth?? You can't handle teh truth!!!
The biggest problem is that the definition of hate speech is malleable and poorly defined, and the judgement of whether or not the spoken or written word meets those criteria is incredibly subjective. What is (fairl
First things first: Screw the Canadians, people get the government they deserve.
We actually have the most conservative government in power right now than we've had in a looong time. And as I stated at the beginning of this article, as a Canadian citizen I have far more rights and freedoms than U.S citizens do thanks to your wonderful Patriot Act and Military Commissions Act of 2006. Seeing as your government found a way to succ
Your blind hatred for Christianity has taken you this far?
Tee hee!! KFC, this may shock you but I'm a christian. I have no hatred towards christianity at all. I do believe the church has been deeply perverted by money, politics and a whole host of factors. Next I am assuming that you will tell me because of my stated beliefs there is no way I'm a 'real' christian. Let's cut all of that pointless rhetoric out right now and save everyone from another cycl
Leauki, Excellent article. On this particular topic I agree with you 100% Unfortunately you posted a quoted paragraph that contains the words "vertebrate retina" and "optic nerve" which will no doubt cause many eyes to glaze over (nothing wrong with the paragraph, it's our on-demand instant gratification culture that's to blame) Saying that God did it all is so much more easy and comfortable and leaves more room in our brains to watch American Idol, or read the Left Behind books! <
tee hee!! whenever Bush brings up Bin Laden I start to chortle... although he is the man who is directly responsible for masterminding and controlling the organization that's responsible for 9/11, Bush decides to...... go after Saddam instead! Bush SHOULD have thrown everything and the kitchen sink into getting Bin Laden, but instead he puts on a little side show in Afghanistan, then six years later says "oh shucks, kinda forgot about that guy.... let's try and git 'im now!!"
Daiwa
I believe that due to freedom of speech, people should be allowed to say absolutely anything they want. It's when those words get published and distributed that it becomes another matter entirely

Huh? How exactly? This would mean complete suppression of reporting. How can the general public be made aware that some guy's a crackpot, a racist, a demagogue if his words cannot be published by others? I could almost accept that the crackpot himself could b
In an effort to further the radical homosexual agenda
Radical agenda? Yes, the effort to enjoy the same rights and protections as everyone else is indeed radical. Hate crimes legislation do not elevate any particular group over another... if anything, it levels the playing field. As I said earlier, most of the use of the so-called "radical" hate crimes legislation in Canada has been well used by Jewish groups far more than
I am still here. 7 hours and counting. Northwest sucks!
A couple of weeks ago I was on my way back home, coming from Dallas... so several hours waiting in various terminals for connecting flights, etc. At DFW I got pulled aside for additional screening where they go through all your stuff. The guard was laughing as he was rifling around, as I had filled my carry on with 3 seasons of star trek deep space 9 on dvd 3 novels (all sci-fi, two also st
Many Americans have a warm, fuzzy view of Canada, and have no idea that a totalitarian nation is taking shape, instigated by gay activists and Muslim pressure groups in the name of "tolerance."
KFC- In some regards I agree with your sentiments. On other points, we diverge. A little clarification first; As your article states, this is being carried out under B.C legislation. This means the case is being pursued in provincial court, not federal. This is the s
This just made my day. Thanks, I needed a good laugh. Epic win.
Here is an excellent book just released that I would urge everyone to read. Chris Hedges has been a foreign correspondent since the early 80's, covering conflicts from Latin America to the Middleast to the Balkans. His earlier book "War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning" was one of the pivotal works that changed much of my opinion on foreign policy and our place in the world. I would also recommend this book as well! ~From <A href="http://www.smirkingchimp.com/thread/150
Verify that statement. Maybe I'm far above middle class, but I'm well out of debt.
Congratulations, and good for you! If that is the case then you are the exception to the rule as most folks are up to their eyeballs in debt. There's a wonderful movie you should see called "in debt we trust" The average American spends far more than they make in a year thanks to an over-abundance of predatory credit, the availability to use your home as an ATM with equity schemes and
I do not hate Mr. Obama. I have not met the man. He has not done anything to me. I do think he is a sneaky, slithering, slick politician
Word to the wise... if you're going to say you don't hate someone, don't immediately follow up that statement with derogatory insults that makes it look like you actually do hate them. This comes off as a very thinly veiled attempt at absolving yourself of any bias when indeed there is much present. Stop mucking around, fess&
I know you are being sarcastic for effect, but you probably should have used a different currency. The Dollar has been tanking it against many currencies - but not the Peso. Just check out the latest exchange rate.
This is true. However with a whole year to go who can say what will happen?
LOL. Great source of information, i mean propaganda, there.
Yup, propaganda. It's all a pack of lies you see. So much so that the fact that GM just anounce
aaah ha ha ha ha!!! Yes, the economy is indeed doing quite well. So well in fact that by this time next year you will be able to exchange your U.S dollars for Mexican pesos (hopefully) at an even exchange rate. If yer lucky. This: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article20027.htm Enjoy your soon to be 5 dollars per loaf of bread!
I’m weighing in at 180 lbs. now. That’s down from 260 last October. Between all this running and going to the gym 3X weekly I’m coming along very well, thank you
That's amazing! Good on ya for sticking with it, and 8:45 a mile is pretty darn good by anyone's standards. You seem to keep on breaking all of these benchmarks no sweat!
First time seeing this, trying to comment on a couple of different threads... "your comment was not submitted succesfully, please try again"
failed attempt to rescue the hostages being held in Tehran...oh yeah...the hostages...
Carter's greatest sin apparently was that he didn't start a needless war. I'm not in any way defending his handling of the crisis but all of the hostages made it out alive, no? And that failed operation lead to the creation of a whole military apparatus for overseas operations that have served the U.S very well and saved many American lives since.
and gas lines
Once again, democrats want to view the world through the eyes of an appeaser, and that the dangers of islamic terrorism are some myth that Republicans created. Democrats are dangerous, not someones military background.
I agree with you that Harkin made a stupid comment. Your error is in taking his words and saying that they represent all democrats. Doing that would be akin to saying that since Allen made his 'macaca' comment that all republicans are racist. It's one man'
I still felt totally ripped off BFD. I PAY to drawn into suspended reality in a movie. And I get a little snippy when the acting/cinematography is so bad I am constantly forced to consider the people WHO MAKE the movie instead of the characters.
Tova, I largely agree with you. However I think this movie is a tragic casualty of a symptom that seems to be repeating itself industry-wide, and I blame dim-witted uncreative studios. This has happened to most of the greats and
He really makes me want to put my A/C on 70, and go out and buy the biggest SUV I can
You go right ahead and do that. Gimme a call when gas hits 8 or 9 dollars a gallon and your power bill gets so high that you have to juggle between keeping the AC on or the lights. The truth is that the current modern lifestyle simply is not sustainable. Did you know that in the U.S you have some of the cheapest gas in the world? In many European countries, trans
certainly not the Big Guy Upstairs since he prefers that we reason for ourselves.
I laughed so hard at this I actually started to snort. According to the church our minds are simply too small and simple to know how to think for ourselves, so it's much better if we focus on being obedient and disciplined instead of using our brains (careful, you'll probably muck it up like everything else in your miserable life!) so they say. Put an armed policeman on the street of
The worst offenders in my books are the car salesmen. Used car salesmen. A friend of mine was looking to get a decent used car for a reasonable price. Nothing fancy, the kind of vehicle that won't break your wallet and you're not ashamed to be seen in. So we look around a bit and find a 2003 generic with good miles and a really decent price. Almost getting into the "too good to be true" category but not quite. Only thing is, it's being advertised by a dealershi
Some of you know I'm a total video game fanatic. More or less, not as much as some people (I take bathroom breaks),
I don't mean to be overly prying when I ask this, but what's your story? Do you have a job/in school/ extenuating circumstances? Just curious as I'm trying to piece together a picture, that's all.
