I've been seeing a lot of feedback about how weapons and defenses work, and it seems like many people would like to see more diversity in how different weapons do damage, with less of the "rock/paper/scissors" tactic. this is very tricky because we want them to stay balanced, but it does seem like this is an area that people would really like "spiced up." (we're using dune puns too now, right?) so here's an idea i had of how to diversify our weapons... basically it's mostly combining

yeah, i've commented about this a couple times too, and i think that they basically want them to have a very, very bad growth rate, like worst in the game by far. they want to counter this by having the race have more hp than any other by far too though, even though they cant heal regularly. prety sure of this because the change they made to the onyx in .8 didnt increase their growth rate at all, but it changed their ships from x2 regular hp to x3, showing that they want this race to grow ver

^ nice, i thought missiles were too op. the main thing i would recommend for tactical combat is a button that says "retreat." push it and your remaining forces try to leave the battle. this would be perfect for both when you realize the battle is lost and you should get out with whatever ships are still in one piece, or when you have something like an interceptor force that is just trying to take out a support or capital ship and then get the hell out of there. also, being abl

I've tried quite a few so far, and my fav has gotta be the Barakat, although i think that the Yor and MImot are the best atm. Not only have i always liked treefolk, but that planet spore ability is my fav one so far, even though I think there are more powerful ones out there. It does a great job of pumping up core worlds, and unlike the Yor or Navigators, it pumps up all core planet stats, not just production. I just really like the versatility that it gives them to pick their fav planets as

nice list, ty. I esp like the Commander traits for the different races. I think it does a great job of adding some good unique character to them. I think that because of the Onyx though that resources need to be balanced more so promethion shows up more, and the Onyx should really have a source of promethion in their starting solar system. TY for all the info! :)

The YOR can start off a little slow (or fast, depending on nearby planets), but once they get going I think they've got a big snowballing problem and become too good too fast. of all the races i've tried the YOR have the potential to do the best. As long as they have good nearby manufacturing, that +50% manufacturing policy boost is insanely good, esp early on, and even if u cant find durantium to produce citizens faster, their military from that +50% policy will allow you to greatly build up
We are going to make two changes: 1. We are changing the circle logic to be more accurate. 2. We are going to draw the collection lines you see from starbases collecting resources when the ship is still in the constructor stage (so you can see what resources it would collect if you places a starbase there).
sounds great, thank you!

Onyx def need a boost. organics can greatly outbreed them, and Yor can use all its citizens right away and then build more pretty fast, assuming they have good durantium and production. Here's a few ideas i had for them... 1. Put promethion in their starting star system. - It's the rarest resource in the game and they need it really bad and have no other reliable way to get it. 2. Make their starting world Low Gravity. - Their lore already says they love low gravity

yeah, you can't load a saved game of an old version of the game after the game has been updated. If you play the Test Edition version, it's going to update every week or 2. the version that just says Galactic Cizilizations IV, and doesn't include Test Edition, updates less often though, and is better for people who want to play longer games right now.

yeah, but you're prob going to have to restart every week or 2 anyway if u want to play the newest version. If you want to play a longer game though, click on the version of the game that just says Galactic Civilizations IV, and doesn't include Test Edition. The non-test edition version is updated less often so that people can play longer games. It just got upgraded to the newest version too so now is actually a great time to start a game on that version.

i just started a game as the terran resistance to check, and it does show up for me there. a couple weeks ago they actually took out oceanic worlds for a min though, and you might need to verify your files to make sure you have the current version with oceanic worlds back.

i think that being able to remove leaders from the pool is a great idea. considering how rare it is to find decent leaders for the stuff you want unless you have their cost reduced, even using the exec order, i think that this would make it a lot more fun for a lot of players. having to wait 30something months for bad candidates to leave, when like all you have is bad candidates, can be really discouraging. have a short cooldown on it if you think it's too good. at the very least, lower the t

I love how the game is developing so far keep up the great work!
i really like these ideas. U could have one time artifact uses for in-combat, and one of those could be to instantly

an extra culture point via a random event or something is nice, but yeah, i think there should be a more consistent way to earn both culture points and the levels that you need to spend them. and stuff like galactic achievements isn't very useful for players at higher difficulties where the AI is usually going to outbuild you if you actually try to build one.

agreed, resources are greatly needed but very few, far between, and inconsistent. i think a good easy fix for this would just be to have a lot more resource stars, but have those resource star systems have a lot more habitable planets. maybe even have planet types kinda match what resource stars systems they're in. for example, a star system that has durantium could have a much higher chance of having a planet with a durantium cloud.

When it comes to population growth rates, a lot of things still seem kinda unbalanced and dont really make a lot of sense... as your world grows, the population growth rates get slower and slower, even though the actual "growth numbers" might be getting much bigger. when you're sending your people off to other planets and starbases, it doesn't make any sense that everyone on your big worlds suddenly decides to stop breeding very quickly while there's still a decent population to breed from an
