Im having a minor bug that I was wondering if anybody was having as well. Sometimes whenever I start a new game, my ship build list is empty. Thus, I am unable to build any new ships. A restart fixes this. I am sending in a report now.

Ok just checking. They are my favorite race which is why I probably noticed their presence missing.
I have one question? Did you feel the Arceans were so bad that they didnt deserve to even be ranked 12th? ;)
The After Action Report forum. Basically its where people share their games. Most try to do it like a sci-fi novel and introduce random characters like ship captains and diplomats and the like to make it more interesting.
I also have the invisible constructers for the Terrans. Just so you guys know.
I'm wondering, does the random auto upgrade problem still exist? I haven't checked to see if it still does since it was too much of a pain to bother with. The problem is, you can place structures found in the old tab on worlds, but sometimes these structures will randomly decide to try to upgrade themselves every so often. It makes it a pain to try to develop new colonies using cheap, quick to build factories, only to find that they start making industrial sectors instead, turning a quick
Well, as long as you have Mega Events turned on anyway.
You could always use colony ships to spread your pop around too.
CariElf, that was right on! Thanks a million. Instead of running as Admin all the time, I finally broke down and disabled UAC in Vista. I'm tired of the Allow or Deny messages anyway. Thanks again!
Running as administrator solved my problem too. Now i can use the "invisible" options that were not available to me despite the game saying it had the latest update. Thanks a bunch.
Yeah, that faster reproduction is nice.
This happens to me as well. Its just something I live with.
Well, mine showed that after updating and it says Beta 5 in game, with all the changes in it...
Lucky. I have Ascension and the ship maintainance tweak, but not autoship design, auto launch, or custom races. Oh, and colony maintaince is still 15 for me.
Ive downloaded it, but for some reason the custom civilization portrait doesnt show up when i choose my new race. Any thoughts?
Im pretty sure an update to DA gave them some starting ships when they first show up to make them more competative.
Hopefully nobody said this already (I dont feel like reading 14 pages of suggestions) but I think in single player or multiplayer with computer fillers, factions of the same race should recieve a diplomatic bonus at the beggining of the game. For example, if you are playing the TEC, any computer TEC factions in the game should have you at a higher diplomacy rating when the game starts. At a minimum, you should have like 25% standing with them, at most a ceasfire. It just seems odd now that you a
Cant forget the fact that the Arceans have better worlds than everybody else. Weather centers combined with Neutral alignment = some pretty nice worlds which can then be piled with economic buildings. My first priority as the Arceans when i play them is get them a market building, and then those are my first priority when improving my new planets. True, i may have some economic troubles, but i do get out of the crash fairly well. Although there was this one game where I tanked bad as t
I had the same problem till i read the manual and it mentioned that aspect of the advent trade centers. I actually dont use too many refineries anyway, but if i was smart i would.
I've had this game for about a day or so and I think its the bomb, but i noticed something. During the player setup screen (after picking the map) I pick whichever race I want to play with but leave the opposing computer (I play on random small maps) to random. However, for some unknown reason to me, the computer is "randomly" the same race as what i chose. Has anybody else had this problem?
I know some races cant get the bubble (Arceans at least), and its an offshoot of the propulsion branch.
The Gaunts Ghosts series is really good, and The Fall of Reach Halo novel too.
Ah, ok. Thanks for the response.
I havnt really been keeping a close eye on the game, but it looks cool. It is certainly on my must try list.
Oooh, so many editors to be released. I also had a question, how exactly does the "Allow Homeless players" button work? Does it mean if a players last planet is taken, they can wander as nomads and take another world (provided they have transports) or is it there to allow events like pirates?
I saw the reduced maintainance for ships in orbit suggestion on another thread, and I liked it. I dont recall the distance from a star/planet/starbase on the other thread, but is a good idea. Another add on to this could be a "fleet discount" modifier. Ships in fleets are relativly close together, theoretically it would require less resources to supply them all than if they were seperate ships. As an example, I like to believe that there are invivsible "supply ships" than canno
I was thinking a new Krynn super ability could be that they only need x2 or x3 native influnce to culture flip a planet rather than the 4x everybody else needs.
