I don't think it has to be complex at all. It worked well in conquest frontier wars, which had a very similar multi-system layout. People still love that game. What it would mean is that a deep raid might see you tell your fleet not to fire as it passes through systems. At the moment fleets have an "american in vietnam" style attitude... fire as much as you want. More ammo is coming. Especially when we can make beam\power recharge based weapons less powerfull but mo

The fleets in sins obviously have a good supply of ammunition. However this should not be unlimited. Supply should play a part making the game that much more interesting. a) special supply structures should be able to rearm\ammo\supply\refit ships. This may include giving ammunition\fuel and even change of weapon loadouts. b ) special supply ships should be built to supply fleets with all this in battle. If they run out of ammo the fleet may be for

I would be good to have a number of combat formations. a) support ships to the rear b ) support ships protecting capital ships only c) Heavy combat ships to the rear (meat shields) d) All round defense - for passing through systems and getting shot in the rear e) cruiser detachements - that can raid while the main fleet concentrates. etc f) Convoy mode - escort the trade ships g) Raid and regroup mode - allows smal

I am one that will love this. Always wanted to know why we went back to the 1500s when the world was flat ;)

I actually have faith in the ironclad team. I was a bit disappointed before with the micro expansions just because they added so little. I lapped them all up wanting more. I think its great we are now getting a fully fledged expansion. As soon as this $30 business is sorted out with my account I will pre-order.

yeah, I cannot think of many games with the same heart and production quality anymore. It seems games are like movies. If you want one with heart you go look for indy or small companies. Thats why I like ironclad and battlefront. Its also why I like the PC. PC lets anyone just start. No strings attached.

having that many IP addresses does have interesting security implications. Especially when the invader does not know to use an ipv6 anonymous.... otherwise your MAC is wide open for everyone to see!! Let me illustrate; you scan a network... somewhere in that massive IP range is a server. Its gonna take months to get anywhere. In the mean time they see you scanning and read the MAC in your IPv6 default IP address. This ties your hardware to the IP specifically. S

the question is... what game is their that does this these days... I mean klingon academy comes close.. but its not playable anymore. Mechwarrior was another one of those games that came close. In general I find games very simplistic these days. You just cannot get into them like you could a game like xwing\tie fighter. There is no feeling from the developers. Sins of a Solar Empire could learn from this. Sins is a great game. It incorporates some features like the music
TIE Fighter. Being young and into Star Wars was probably the best catalyst for this. I remember getting it and my buddy would come over and we'd double-team it, one would pilot and one would manage targeting, radar, etc. It actually had a bunch of extras if you searched for them, a great storyline, and some awesome graphics for its time.
I agree. If you include the orig

that is cossacks2 allowed players to split forces up. Napoleon total war has a very complex coop campaign. But its complex to explain and I don't think too relavent here.

lets see: dawn of war 2 was focused on coop campaigns napoleon total war has an awesome coop campaign best i have ever seen and certainly not a comp stomp as your mate has the option of playing for the enemy AI in battles.

I have used mac fairly extensively in a troubleshooting capacity and have to say that when things do go wrong with the OS it gets fairly ugly. A PC has so many more recovery options that are quick simple and specific. in fact I know in a lot of instances that involve email MAC is the unknowing virus carrier because they have no virus scanner!!!! I know professors with macs who have impacted and enraged other professors in other countries when they finally tracked down that it was a ma

i will be sticking with PC until modding and complex games/innovative thought and upgradeable hardware move to the consoles. Apart from the PC doubling as an office platform.

I have primarily played coop or VS AI so I am sure the game is more challenging vs humans. My point though is that battles can often get repetitive and boring by the end of a match. I guess I would not mind as much if the ships were more homeworld esque with turrets and Z axis etc. I have always wanted to see more than ships just lining up against each other. For instance ordering your ships to chase and box in an enemy vessel would be cool. Even ordering a protective box around
