Do you have the WinTV unit in the USB slot when you start windows? I find the remote will only work if the unit is in USB slot if not have to restart it when I plug it in so it can find the unit. So changed to just having a shortcut to hit when plugged unit in instead of starting with Windows start.
Way to go. Once you get the hang of the basics of using your computer then you can start to have fun with it. Hope it all works out well and you get to enjoy computing more.
Not being a skinner think I follow this in Gef's Desktopx Theme AeroXP (version 2) In his start menu he has a TASK-SYS entry which when you click hids or shows the bar in his theme. Think this is the sort of thing you are after. Might be worth a look If you can see the code of how it's done. Give you some idea on how to do yours.

It's very easy to mess it up. A lot harder to sort out what you have done and correct it.
