Kinda what I was thinking, Jim. I like the bottom half better, but the upper half works a lot better. Another thing, is the mouse-over glow in W7. It wasn't showing up very well with a darker button. I've lightened it up some so that the glow can show through.

I don't like the way they're shaping up as per the original design. Seems like icons want to hang out, and things just aren't looking right. I tried a grey button alternative. After some time-off from skinning (not my choice, been really busy with work the last couple of months) I noticed that RedneckDude had created a theme called Aero Station. He made DX goodies, ObjectDock backgrounds, a cursor, etc., but there was no WindowBlind! I asked him if he would allow me to make the blind, and he graciously allowed me. Just a few parts that behave differently between OS's: Command bar buttons Taskbar and buttons System Tray arrow Start Menu & mouseovers ...and that's just off the top of my head. So, yes, it is worth it and necessary to create substyles.
